How did you finish off the hem since lining is attached to main fabric on the sides
@blosclosetАй бұрын
I added a lace fabric to the hem of the skirt and I over locked the raw edges.

How did you fold the yard to get the back. It is still confusing
@blosclosetАй бұрын
I folded it in a kind of slanted manner. This is not something I can easily explain via writing. You'd just have to watch it again and again in slow motion if possible to be able to get it. You will also need your material by your side to practice along and you will find it easy to understand.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. Please if i am to use a lace fabric to sew this, is it necessary for me to line it? If yes, how do i line the mermaid part. I await your kind response Thank you🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
@bloscloset4 ай бұрын
Yes you'd have to line it dear. You can line it halfway through (that is, up until the knee). You can line it all through just like I did in the video. All you have to do is subtract 3 inches from your original skirt length on the lining piece, and use it to turn the lace fabric.
@LilicianoA4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your kind response. I actually meant to double line especially where the lace have scallops.
@bloscloset4 ай бұрын
@@LilicianoA it would be quite difficult for me to explain it using text. What I usually do is I cut the lining pieces to be shorter than the lace (like 3 to 4 inches shorter than the actual lace). I cut 2 lining pieces for each skirt piece. Then I go ahead to laminate the lace on one lining piece (that is, use hemming gum or sewing glue to hold the lace and lining together as one piece), then I use the second lining piece to turn the laminated lace. I hope this helps.

Is it okay not to fold the back part like that if you enough length of the material
@bloscloset7 ай бұрын
Yes dear. If you have enough fabric you do not need to fold the back like I did. I only used this method because I had only 3 yards of Ankara Fabric.

Thanks so much but I think the first style was slash and spread method not Aline

Yes, You can use the slash and spread method too. However this video's focus is on how to Cut and Sew a mermaid skirt with a cut together train using only used 3 yards of Ankara fabric.

I till don't understand about the center front, please the center front is divide in to how many
@blosclosetАй бұрын
The center front is on fold. You will divide your round body measurements by 4 (That is your waist and your hips). For the A-line extension you will divide your hip measurement by 4. Whatever answer you get, you will multiply it by 2 to get the A-line extension. I hope this answers your question. Feel free to ask any more questions.🤗❤️
