Your fabric has a pattern so you, should have used the fabric so that you could have had the blue on top and the yellow on the bottom you should always follow the the fabric pattern using the grain . Also if you have a zizzag foot you could have just sewn in the elastic without adding a casing.

Thank you dear, talking about following the pattern on the fabric, I was working with the size of fabric I had left. If I follow the pattern, the length and width wouldn't have been enough for me. Even though I didn't follow the pattern, the arrangement is still beautiful.
