My husband has curly hair and it was a work in progress for me to learn how to cut his hair. I knew I shouldn't cut his hair blunt since he had curls but anytime I tried to cut length and texture at the same time I cut my finger EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I finally decided to break a few "rules" and do what made sense in my brain.

I just cut my 5 year old son’s hair tonight after watching your video, and it turned out AMAZING! I have to say it is the best haircut he has gotten in the past 3 years :) I usually have to take him to a high-end hair salon because not many people feel comfortable cutting his hair, and his hair turns out just okay. Ah, my four year old has asked for a drastic cut on his long wavy hair (sob) - fingers crossed I can pull this off as he doesn’t want to go to the salon - thanks for sharing! Do you have any tips on helping kids learn to love their curls? I’ve got kids with very straight and super thick and curly and the curly one is really starting to get upset about his curls and ask for styles his hair will just never do.

I ALWAYS snipped my knuckles cutting my husband’s curly hair! Now I wrap them with self-adhering sports wrap/bandages, and no more snipped fingers!
