Armhole Princess dart is good. Shoulder princess dart is good, but must be contoured if the neckline is a deep cut, same with the armhole. You can also use the normal basic back bodice

There's no need removing anything from the armhole princess seam, just follow the method I used, you'll be amazed at the outcome

Please for the second picture, can I still do the armhole tightening we normally do.( eg, contouring it by 1” or more and then redrawing the armhole) since I’d be padding it . Or isn’t that necessary?

If it's going to be a tube or with straps, then it's important you contour the armhole for a tighter fit. Except you want it a bit loose around the armhole
