How to cut off Kalameet's tail (Dark Souls Remastered)

The boss is hard, but I could easily kill him if I fought him normally. But trying to cut his tail has proved to be the hardest thing to do in the game so far. None of the bosses were hard, but cutting his tail off solo is hard.

@@albertorodriguez2750 Honestly it’s not even worth it as the weapon is not that good except for like niche scenarios, but it was an interesting challenge. My attempt that I beat him took like twenty minutes, most of which was trying to cut the tail which I did, then beat him in the same attempt which was pretty epic

It’s pretty crazy. It’s not even the volume that does it. It’s the frequency. Turn the volume down and it’s still irritating.

Baiting out the tail slam attack so you can have a propper attack window to cut the tail has got to be the worst thing to do in this game.

At 2:25, I don't understand how you have time to get round to the tail given that you were mid animation when the attack started. I'm always as close as I can, at 25% equip load, and if I full sprint as soon as the attack starts then his tail is still up in the air again by the time I get there. The actual fight is easy - I can pretty much do it without taking damage - but I just don't seem to be fast enough to ever even reach the tail.

You might be cofusing that flame attack with his eye hex grab attack, which has a similar animation but much faster recovery time.

Same. Running to the tail in time feels like the endless corridor in Mario 64, you just never get there.

Got it on my next attempt after seeing this. Thanks! Got encouraged by the fact that you were already using a halberd which is my main weapon :) was afraid I would need to use something else to manage it and wouldnt have many upgraded weapons. Anyway, great!

At first glance and attempts it seemed kinda impossible to reach his tail with meelee attacks. The grab opening and when he stands in 2 feet to breath fire are the best moments to do it

I hit him on nothing but the tail using a black knight glacé +5. I ended up killing him before he dropped his tail. Wtf.

I attacked only his tail using a BKH+5 and ended up killing him before the tail cut... I even restarted the fight twice... fuck this. (Every other tail cut in the game takes 2 to 3 hits except this...)

His tail doesn't have more LP than the whole dragon. The problem is, you have to hit the tail further down, because too close to his body, it will not recognize the hit as "on his tail".

The omly windows of healing you have is when the fire circular and when the fire goes straight at you. At least that how i did it, another way to get the tail weapon to bait out it's gliding attack and if your lucky enough then it'll do a tail slam

With a zweihander is a fuking nightmare. Second try and need to go out because almost kill him. That halberd animation is great. So fast. Maybe il switch for the crystal one if I can't get with my zwei

I just did it with a zweihander. I had to switch to it for my sanity because my halberds were too weak, I’d have to hit the tail several times with them. My +14 zweihander took 3 hits.
