I was admiring your work on IG and wanted to ask you about your settings but didn't want to bug you, so I googled and your video was a top result 😅 thank you for sharing your settings! Have you ever tried cutting on a tacky cutting mat like a cricut mat to help hold on to paper bits or is that more work than pulling it straight off the honeycomb bed?
@trishazemp6591 Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! I haven't tried laser cutting on a sticky mat. If I am working with a bunch of small paper bits, I will put a second sheet of paper underneath and after the cut use that second sheet to funnel the small bits into a container!
@lingwang5055 Жыл бұрын
@@trishazemp6591 Ahh thank you for reminding me about the tip to put a paper underneath to catch all the things. May I ask how you prevent your little cut up pieces from being blown all over the place? Thank you so much!
@trishazemp6591 Жыл бұрын
@@lingwang5055 If they are extra pieces from the cut that I don't need, then I don't stress about them blowing around. I let them fall into the crumb tray and empty it out later. If I need small pieces I will usually cut a bunch of extra in case I loose some from being blown around. :)

Very coool! I enjoyed your video! Thank you! You know i have to ask how you set your laser to the alexa, i have google i wonder if i can do that with mine! This was very helpful for me because i am a paper crafter, colorist! Have you had any luck with engraving on paper?
@trishazemp65913 жыл бұрын
So the laser and filter are hooked up to amazon smart plugs (amzn.to/3bI9Fa2). Yes we have engraved on paper. Go check out Philadelphia Cream Cheese stop motion KZbin video at minute 11:15 you will see some leaves that we engraved on. I looked for our settings but could not find them but the power was very low and the speed with pretty fast.

Good overview. Now, have you cut glitter paper with the machine? Interested in knowing because this is a big investment machine and I am thinking of getting one for wedding invitations. Your thoughts/knowledge will be greatly appreciated.
@trishazemp65912 жыл бұрын
Hey Hector! I vaguely remember cutting glitter paper once before, and if I remember correctly, it worked. If you would like to email me, I can run a test and send you an image of what it looks like, and what my settings are. You can shoot me an email through the contact form on my site! www.trishazemp.com

Great video! Have you tried cutting through multiple sheets of paper? Do you have those settings?
@trishazemp65913 жыл бұрын
Yes we have tried it. But we don't do it, the reason is that we always get substantial burn marks on the sheets that are below the top sheet. We haven't had the need to optimize multiple sheets it to get rid of the burn marks so we don't really have good settings for that.

Have you had any issues the magnets causing interference with the laser head?
@trishazemp65912 жыл бұрын
To this point, we haven't experienced any interference yet. The magnet solution has worked really well for us.

We have a GF pro and absolutely love it. We aren't crafty at all but this machine is amazing! It is super user friendly. Does your company do animation for others? We are looking for a very short animation.

can you cut chipboard with glowforge?. so how long does it take to cut a 10x 15inches chipboard?
@trishazemp65912 жыл бұрын
Yes! You can cut chipboard and cardboard. The time it would take would all be dependent on how intricate your design is!

What holds the paper in place if you don’t use the magnetic and why can’t it cut vinyl?
@trishazemp65913 жыл бұрын
You can use magnets to hold the paper. Cutting vinyl will produce chlorine gas which toxic.

@@trishazemp6591 if you don’t use magnet then what holds the paper in place was what I was asking.
@trishazemp65913 жыл бұрын
@@myisha7833 just the weight of the paper itself. Most of the time is stays put just fine. But, if you are cutting something intricate, I definitely recommend using magnets!

@@trishazemp6591 oh that is interesting. I was curious because I have purchased electronic cutters in the past that require the use of sticker mats to hold paper. This machine seems like a game changer.

Do you get much smoke from cutting paper?

Yes but we has it attached to the carbon filter system so it does not linger in the vicinity.
