I just watched 10 different ways to cut a perfect circle in a piece of plywood. This is by far the fastest, easiest and safest way to get the job done. Thank you

Exactly...no talking...this is like an ASMR. LOL....With a good soundtrack!

This is great. I found another use for myjigsaw. You could theoretically make this jig for a router which would probably eliminate the notch.
@Chris_Wolfgram5 жыл бұрын
Just a few things to consider here. 1) you need to have a good, straight jig saw which is adjusted spot on perfect, and new blade, otherwise the blade will pull to one side or the other, and screw it all up. 2) this would be better setup to cut in a clockwise circle, as cutting counter clockwise will tend to make the screw in the center back out.... or, use a crew with the top portion having no threads.
@RobertoVoorbij5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for making this tutorial! Really helpful! A tip for future users; one problem I ran into was the not following of the circle by the jigsaw. The solution was the combination of using a heavier blade and pushing the jigsaw down firmly.

To make this work without the blade drifting, bending, burning up or breaking. The individual center mark holes, NEED to be lined up with the cutting edge of the blade. Otherwise, the blade will begin to bend as you go along and end up burning it up or breaking the blade, and end up with a non perfect circle that has a beveled edge.
@originalius5683 Жыл бұрын
I did this but the blade stilll bended

Nice idea, I do my circles using a router the same way. Only problem with the jigsaw is that you're left with a notch in the circle where you drilled for the jigsaw blade, but not with using a router. Going to have to post this on my channel now haha. But still, well done 👍👍

I guess you should start on the edge of the plywood if you want a circle without the little notch where you drilled the starting hold.
@AR-uw9fw6 жыл бұрын
Right on dude I was thinking to myself as I was watching this video how far down in the comments I would have to go to see if anyone noticed a little notch in his pre-drill and yours was like the fourth one down I guess I am normal right on man hahaha
@unnamedchannel12375 жыл бұрын
Could you mark where the hold you want to start say put a pencil through the blade hole. do a plunge cut to get the first hole place the jig back on wood place the jig saw in and put blade through the plunge hole you made?
@jakobrosenberg20085 жыл бұрын
You can use a multicutter to avoid the round hole
@LFL-qp1fg5 жыл бұрын
Although I agree with you, I guess you should learn how to spell. He didn't drill a hold.

A way to avoid this is by starting at one edge of the plywood or piece of material you are cutting.

Plot twist: The starting hole in the beginning was the perfect circle he was referring to jk, great idea
@TheOrcasRule4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, he needed to drill the hole either to the inside or outside of it, depending on whether he wanted a "perfect hole" or a "perfect circle." ;-) I'm looking to cut some perfect "holes" in the good material, so I'll drill the pilot hole to the inside of the line BEFORE I place the jig.

Using a drill hole will still make the blade wobble a bit. I took a screw driver(skinny) one and did the hole, this way the blade will fit tight with no movement to left or right and besides, the hole on the circle will eat a little into the circle.
