Cutting straight with an oscillating multi tool can't be a rather difficult task without the right tips. For starters, it you want to have straight cuts, you must first have quality oscillating tool blades. You get what you pay for, if the blades you're using are cheap, they will tend to bend more easily causing curved and inefficient cuts.
Once you have a good oscillating tool and oscillating tool blade, then when you make your cuts, you must go cut steadily, apply minimal pressure and allow the oscillating tool to do the cutting with the aim of having the blade straight in the horizontal and vertical planes.

How bout if I'm cutting on the diagonal say to create a piece of 2x4 that is 30" long on one side and 18" long on the other side?

Thanks for the clip, I've always wanted to do videos myself, but am too involved in construction to have the time to do all the video stuff. Good on you. However, the first thing I would say about this is I would not try to do long cuts with an oscillating tool. I would bring a circular saw out, and when coming to a 90-degree corner, instead of cross-cutting, I would bring a jigsaw out. However the oscillating tool is a fantastic tool, and is so helpful and so many other different applications.
