Thanks for the info...easier to search KZbin for videos than on the AccuQuilt site. Maybe my Norton Antivirus has messed up my search abilities there. This is an oldie, but still a goodie for the how to info!

Love your instructional videos =). But...it would be even more wonderful if there was an overhead (over your shoulder) camera so I can see exactly how things are placed on the die =)
@karenhickey33779 ай бұрын
I totally agree! It would be much more helpful if there was an overhead view so we could see better.

I have the Go! cutter and a lot of dies. What is the name of the quilt on the wall behind you, and which dies are used?? I got the 8" cube with my cutter in the ready set go box

Does the 3 strip die cut the fabric width the same size ( width) as a jelly roll. I know I can have any length.

I have an Accucut. Are the directions the same as for the Accuquilt?
@louisedragne53192 жыл бұрын
Please question I see different lines on the die What how are they cutting? Thank you
@accuquilt2 жыл бұрын
Hi Louise, those would be the angled guidelines on the die! If you line up your pre-cut strips on the angled guidelines you are able to cut squares, diamonds, and parallelograms.

Hi Louise, we cannot suggest using other brands of dies or cutters with our items, as this voids their warranty.

So... you are cutting selvege to selvege, not lengthwise as other accuquilt cuts?
@MoMaryR6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. 2 questions: 1) So, it`s fine to cut strips on crosswise grain? 2) Which end of the die do you put your fold please?
@karenwescott26156 жыл бұрын
I'm wondering the exact same thing!

The fold goes through first: There is a good video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4GklHmnadCDrtE

i am very new to quilting. i am a crocheter and cross stitcher. i am confused about placing fabric on the dies. I see some videos stating the selvage should be on the sides (at your belly) so the lengthwise grain goes into the cutter. Then I see that sometimes the selvages are placed at the end and the crosswise grain is going in. Totally confused. I see directions that come with the dies and the lengthwise grain is going first and the selvage is at your waist. especially the strip cutters. which is it?

I sure wish someone would've answered this question by now??? Its been a year... I would love to know the answer to this question, I thought this video might! but....
@dianadurham34972 жыл бұрын
Other Accuquilt videos explain that for most dies, the selvage is placed at your belly, but that strip dies are the exception-for strip dies place the fabric so that the fold goes through the machine first.

This isn't clear how to put fabric on die-- where is selvedge
@loniawalter90773 жыл бұрын
The fold was farthest way from the machine and the selvedge was closest to the machine.

@karenb5697 жыл бұрын
Jenny Boone I would think you could -- I would use the recommended amount for cutting wool.

Hi, I have the Go Baby with the 2 1/2" strip die. Unfortunately, my cutter has just wasted a lot of my fabric, I put it on lengthways as described and only cut four layers, even then I had to cut the fabric because the die hadn't cut all the way through. I might just stick to my rotary cutter and ruler from now on, what a waste of money!!
@keithandlindabaldrey74135 жыл бұрын
Chris Butler i agree. Wish i had seen your comment before I wasted my money.

I got strip die, no top mat came with it, how do I find one and what size
@accuquilt3 жыл бұрын
Cheryl, our mats are sold separately. You can find them on our website. Most strip dies need a 10 x 24 cutting mat. A few take the 6 x 12 Cutting Mat

HOW LONG ARE THEY??
@accuquilt6 жыл бұрын
HI Osmon- The strips are as long as your width of fabric. That could be anywhere between 40" to 45" depending on your fabric. Hope that helps.
@karenwescott26156 жыл бұрын
@@accuquilt Does that mean that you cut with the selvedge edge facing to the back?

Excess fabric folded up on the side will not allow my cutter to roll through. I have the GO Big.
@cherylsommardahl9831 Жыл бұрын
Sorry I have the accuquilt go.
@accuquilt Жыл бұрын
You can fold the excess fabric to the side of the die; however, you will want to be sure you're not cutting too many layers which will cause a bit of additional bulk with the excess.
@cherylsommardahl9831 Жыл бұрын
Right but she says to loosely roll excess fabric on the side & then cut. That pulls the excess fabric through the cutter which bunches up & doesn’t allow the cutter to operate.
