No lie this made my eyes water. I came here to start learning how to cut my sons hair. He’s just a toddler. All I want is for one day him to want to spend time with me when he’s in high school. That’s typically the age where kids don’t want to spend time with you. And they care the most about their appearance. So the fact he would rather you cut it then a barber says a lot about his relationship with you. Beautiful.

So he goes to Sally's to get his clippers. He was in the bathroom forever but he did a good job for his first time. He called for my assistance to line up the back. At 6'4 I had to chair him. Thank you so much for this video! I'm a female that stumbled across this video and watched it only to see if the content would be of interest to my husband and son during the shelter-in-place. What I didn't expect was to find information that would be of value to me. Your explanation of how to care for the hair has help me understand part of the reason why my hair has continued to break even after only allowing professionals to touch it for a year. My hair needed to be properly moisturized, handled at certain times with a large tooth comb before moving to a brush and fine tooth comb. I almost cried when I combed my hair this morning and there was no shedding. It's because for the first time, I clearly understand the importance of moisturizing before combing. I noticed that 142 people did not find your video beneficial. As for me, your video came at a crucial time. Please don't allow the negative comments to stop you from teaching. You have taught me how to prevent further hair loss.

Man, your directions are so accurate and very helpful to say the least! Your explanations are super helpful and for the first time, I have successfully faded my own hair, ending my afro hair project that lasted 4 or so months. This is the first time I am ever listening to a KZbin video for such an activity. I will recommend your directions to my friends wo would want to have a try.

Dear Game Changer, this video tutorial on how to cut hair is defintely a game changer! What a great video with so much information for new time self cutters like myself. I think the most important part of the process is to take it slow, and you demonstrated so much patience throughout the tutorial. Big thank you!

Hey Hun! This was a great tutorial. You really took your time and I learned a lot. Yes with Barber shops being closed down due to the quarantine and even some openings up, my family members are not confident with going out. So I bought some WALH clippers from the beauty supply store and have been trying cutting my son and mom hair. I still need a lot of practice but this video was great. Thank you!

I might never need this as a White dude with longer hair but I find Black barbershops so intriguing. Something about the culture surrounding them and the intimacy of dealing with natural Black hair tends to make them very important in their communities. So many barbers are role models for their community's youth. Lots of wisdom and life lessons are shared there. Barbers and coaches provide so much guidance to young people that need some direction. They deserve far more love and respect. And again, I say this as someone that's simply listened from the outside. Excellent video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills

Yo! I am so tired of paying for dudes to cut my hair halfass. I have been telling myself that I was going to watch a video and start cutting my own hair. After watching this video, rewinding over and over to check the position of your hands i cut my hair! what kept me motivated was you saying "the thinner the hair, the better the cut. well my hair is so fine it is thin. I get lucky to find a barber thats consistent one, let alone good on "my hair". just weird. so I thank you for the detailed accurate information! This was a fantastic educational video! THANK YOU! once i figure out how to upload a pic here i'll post. i'm so satisfied! #selfcut #patience #youcandoit

I'm only 1:30 into this video and you're already speaking directly to me. My son is 14. And we're both ready to learn. I watched a few videos already. And they weren't speaking to beginners. When I heard you say you're going to show your clipper set up, I felt relieved. I was waiting for someone to talk about that.

Ayo this is over a year old but I just gotta come and say...you def changed the game. I followed your tutorial as closely as I could even though I was mad nervous and I came out getting all types of compliments on my hair. I truly was going for a serviceable look so I could stop wolfin' while also saving money because I'm an actor. Now I don't know if it was beginner's luck but I'm committed to cutting my own hair for the foreseeable future haha. Thanks for doing this my guy!

Take a bunch of newspaper and lay it out on the floor(may have to tape it together) and stand on it when cutting. Most of the hair should fall right on and when you're done just roll that thing up. Helps tremendously. Only hard part is finding some damn newspaper 😂

TheBreadMan22 1 the handheld mirror did it for me. I worked near my progress line and where my durag is. Make sure your hair is washed, take your time, take your time, breathe, take your time and don’t strive for perfection, it gets better over time.

You're alright, my man... This video was packed with helpful info... I'm a disabled vet who doesn't get out much, so I don't go to the barber regularly. And my hair looks like I'm homeless. So, I bought myself a cordless clipper and trimmer to take care of my hair at home. My trimmer has been delivered, and I'm still waiting on the arrival of my clippers. In the meantime, I've been searching for someone on YT who gives good instructions... And I'm glad I found your channel. You have literally debulked the dense body of barber knowledge. Preciate ya for it! 🎨

I Loved This Tutorial !!! It helped me to cut my sons hair. I watched other tutorials but didn't get it. You went slow and explained the different clips, what that lever thing does and how to angle the clippers. I felt more confident to tackle this task after watching your instructions. Thank you so much. His hair came out great.

I appreciate the tutorial so much. Thank you for putting in as much detail as you did. My grandson has a skin condition as his father had, but he doesn’t want to go totally skin bald like his dad. And he’s told me even when he’s washed his hair several times with the medicated prescription shampoo before he goes to the barber, the lady that always does him will get ugly looks on her face and make comments. And quite often she just stops the job. And his hair is only half done. I was in cosmetology when I was younger. I had people with all kinds of things going on. I never ever did anything to make my clients feel bad and I sure as heck never let them leave the chair looking ridiculous. So any way, I’ve tried doing his hair and it just never came out right. It looked good but not how he wanted it. You have a very similar shape face and head as my grandson and he asked me to watch you and then try to do his hair right. I will give it a go and I think with your help, my handsome grandson won’t be embarrassed to go out again.

Bro this tutorial was GREAT!!! Thank you for showing the entire cut and being so honest and giving so much detail. I wish I saw this one before I messed up my taper fade last week and had to give myself a light Caesar. Lol. But I was just able to use a few of the gems you dropped in here doing a little touch up on my hair. Thanks again I can’t wait until my hair longer to really try this again. Oh and fellas that read this I’ve been cutting my own hair for 21/22 years (for the most part) but couldn’t consistently nail the tapers. I’ve been using Andis Masters all this time but I just bought some Oster Fast Feeds and for Fading these joints are seeming to be a game changer! The Masters are GREAT but you’ve gotta already be pretty damn good to perfect fades with them, the Fast Feeds leave much more room for error and honing your skills.
