Hi mate great video. If you was to tank the walls before applying the dry zone would this slow down the damp issue coming back ?

Hi Peter, thanks for your tip. Will look into this for the next project. Have you used dryzone rods before ?

Looks like the the external concrete floor is to high this causing water to enter the property and they wall is wet. Have you done a damp survey with a thermal imaging camera. Also should also check any outside guttering and any drains near bye. Hope this helps.

Hi Raza, thanks for your comment. That is right, 10 seconds into the clip you can see the external ground level is very similar to the internal ground level. The best method would have been to deal with the external ground level but this would have been more complicated due it being owned by someone else. So instead we had it treated with damp proof rods for the next course of bricks above the external ground level. Due to water also building up and dampening the lower part of the wall (which you mention) we used damp proofing plaster to prevent any bridging to the internal wall on the finish coat. In this situation I probably did not need the damp proof rods but I put them in anyway. We were also thinking to stud the wall and insulate it with a damp proof barrier on the insulation itself to stop water penetrating to the internal space but went for this option instead ... so far it is fine... fingers crossed it stays that way... Haa

There was dampness like this on the internal wall in my house. As seen in this video I removed the plaster from the wall and injected dryzone cream. Next I think Dryzone damp resistant plaster should be applied. So how long after applying this plaster should I do proper skimming?

Hi Gopakumar, thanks for your comment on this video. We applied plasterboard on ours and then skimmed on that which left a little air gap in between. But if you want to skim it does say to do the following: Any other finishing is carried out once the curing process is complete, after at least 14 days. The 14 days is recommended by dryzone before you do a final skim over it. But if you not want to wait that long, you can think about what I did instead :) Any other questions I am happy to try and help

I've just had this done but with a membrane stuck on to the dry zone adhesive/render

Oh nice, was it a mesh membrane that was embedded in the render. Or was it a damp proof course membrane and you used plug to hold it onto the wall.

Hi, My external wall and internal wall under the window side of the sitting room is damped. I'm really confused what to do. If it was inside I could do myself watching KZbin videos but external one I don't know because the main cause of damp is from external and its rising up. Could you please suggest me something ??

Morning, thanks for your message. As I am not a professional but do jobs for my own projects only. However I am happy to give you my opinion. If you are pretty certain it is rising damp you can use damp proof rods like I have done in this video. However if you are are not sure what it is you can get a damp survey to find out what it is and rectify yourself or get a damp proof meter if you know how to use one. If you decide to use damp proof rods make sure they go into the wall every 12cm or so. Also make sure they go in the full thickness of the wall too. And put them to the closest brick motar joint level to the ground. There are also some other videos on youtube that are helpful. I would also recommend looking at a guys channel called "Damp Sam". He shows you other methods as well and is a professional too. He basically has methods that has an physical space between the wall and the plasterboard after also using the dryzone damp rods. It is also easier if I seen your damp. If you upload a youtube video and send me a link to a private video. That can also be done so I can see. I understand damp can't be stressful and difficult to deal with but by reading what is in your house. It doesn't seem as serious as other cases I have heard which is good news for you. However I am sure you want to get it resolved to some extent and I happy to give more of my opinions, just ask me 😀
