I'm glad I found this vid again! Because of you, I'm the only one who can isolate in our class. It makes me proud. Thank you! Have a bright 2012! :D

We do these head isolations in belly dance also. It helps to be aware of your core and how those muscles are stabilizing the body to create the illusion that only the head is moving. You can't see the invisible work in other areas. Love this style. Great job

Thanks for breaking these moves down to the slow motion. That's how one can learn awesome dance steps!

Crazy man! I'm from Brazil and here is hard to find someone to teach! Congratulations!!!!

I haven't even come close to mastering this, but I found a technique that helped me start to get my head to move side to side. Sit up straight on the floor in front of a mirror, cross your legs and grip your ankles with your hands, then just keep practicing! This helped me stabilize my torso so I could focus on my neck and head without having to focus on keeping my torso still at the same time. Hope this helped some of you!

I struggled for a bit with it but...now it's totally natural. Except for the circular one--that definitely takes my head for a spin, no pun intended. Like trying to tap your head with one hand and rub your stomach with the other, only more difficult. I'll get it!!!

Sweetness. I'm 16 and I'm just beginning to learn the "ways of the dance." I've never danced in my life (with the exception of dancing like a moron through my house) and I'm just now becoming interested in it. Your videos are nice starters, thanks! I'd give you a hug, but I'm too far away. =] Toodles, take care, peace.~

yes, all body parts moves together but the head is seperated. Try to keep your head back, it just takes some time, keep workin homie :)
@write2yibo12 жыл бұрын
great! thanks ! I love it because you actually have music! lots of other tutorial just talk about things in silence.. if there is no beat i dont know how to move:p
@koLourBlynd8912 жыл бұрын
What I find most tutorials DON'T talk about is HOW to move your head left to right or HOW to move your body with your head iso'd; I don't think I'm great but after watching and a few mirror attempts I think I know how to explain.
@TheRussianTiger15 жыл бұрын
its normal but you have to get rid of that by stretching and to keep trying :)
@Zamyye15 жыл бұрын
lol it's so hard to learn to do this when im distracted by your cuteness!
@koLourBlynd8912 жыл бұрын
To move your head left or right, the idea is to actually move your head out and that direction, otherwise you seem to move your shoulders in tandem. To move your body with the isolation, you have to move your head simultaneously with the body in the opposite direction of the first isolation. This may sound counter-intuitive, but because your neck is (unfortunately) connected to your body, the movement forward would move your head forward as well.
@TheRussianTiger15 жыл бұрын
agreed, i was a little disapointed in the tutorial, its much harder trying to talk and look at a camera when doing the move and doing it extra big so people can see. trust me its way harder :)
@omer126t14 жыл бұрын
I learned this in about 2 days. What really helps is if you practice in the mirror, go to the bathroom and just try to move your head side to side. You have to practice at least an hour a day if you wanna get this move down quickly. Also you can practice anywhere, so you could be sitting down watching this video and trying this. You can also search "ISOLATION 101: Beginners Guide to Isolating the Head" (not my video) Do the exercise in this video, it really helps. Thumbs up if I helped.
@MrDubsteppopper13 жыл бұрын
@dennisrahardian its normal that your neck hurts a bit its because you stretch that muscle ;) keep practicing
@TheRussianTiger15 жыл бұрын
hhaha yess, mine did too the first time, it means your doing it right cuz your moving muscles you barely use. If it continues for a while then its problem, it should only "ache" once or twice and shouldnt be that bad :)
@bomis18109414 жыл бұрын
man youre so good at it that this kinda creeps me out :D

this is very well done, good job one word of advice: on your side to sides, try not to force your head when you're bringing your body in too (ie keep your head locked in place) i know that's picky, but since you're good, i figured i'd give some constructive criticism thanks again

I learnt isolations from this video and ONLY this video, trust me, you wanna be able to isolate; stretch your neck out moving your head side to side and forwards and back for about a week then start the zombie walk. P.S it's much easier when you first start learning to stick your head forward when doing the zombie walk

this video is how i learn head head isolation thanx dude
@koLourBlynd8912 жыл бұрын
But one of the main things to emphasize is that your dance style can be much different than this, meaning that instead of isolation by means of y- and x-axis movement, you can isolate in the z-axis, or side to side. The lesson really is to learn how to make it LOOK like you are moving only one body part, but actually be moving all parts at the same time.
