So there was this old lady that lived in this village that had 2 daughters. The oldest daughter was married to an umbrella merchant and the youngest was married to a noodle shop vendor. Everyday the old woman was sad and would cry frequently. The reason for this was because whenever it would rain, she would think about her youngest daughter not being able to sell hot noodles. They need the sun to warm up the noodles and nobody would want to eat outside in the rain so business would be slow. And whenever it was sunny outside, the old lady would think about how her oldest daughter would be unable to sell umbrellas since it wasn’t rainy outside. The old lady felt that no matter the weather, negativity would always follow. One day a wise monk met the old lady and asked her what’s wrong. The old lady explained the situation and the monk listened. The monk said, “The solution to your problem is very simple. All you have to do is change your perspective. So whenever it rains don’t think about your younger daughter not being able to sell noodles but instead think about your oldest daughter being able to sell umbrellas and keeping people dry. And when it’s sunny don’t think about your oldest daughter not being able to sell umbrellas but instead think about your youngest daughter being able to sell noodles and feeding people on bright sunny days.” The old lady took his advice and after that day the old woman would smile and laugh cause she realized that she was always focusing on the negative side of things rather than the positive

Becareful of your thoughts, because they become your actions, and your actions creates your reality. Stop thinking about depression, stress or anxiety, because that's what you will attract. Remain present all the time, hence a moment given in life is a gift, and you should appreciate it.😊 Stop worrying about what will happen the next hour, because life already has its own thought about that hour, that's nature. Life is way too big to be controlled but at least try to make yours worth a while, because you can't afford to control other people's lives, and there's no reason in getting upset if you can't control what they say or how they perceive you.

How do you view depression with someone whos been diagnosed with a form of it i.e Major depressive disorder. You mentioned in the video that feeling is temporary, and that your only feeling depressed, but that in of itself is two separate mental states. Feeling depressed for a little while is something that everyone experiences at some point in their lives, but to be clinicaly depressed is completely different, since its a mental state that actively changes ur brain physicaly and mentaly over many weeks and months and is alot harder to overcome.(very possible doe) I agree with pretty much all your points on how to work through your depression, but through personal experience, Ive found that accepting that your depression is simply a PART of you is actually the best way to start the mental fight. OWNING/ACCEPTING your depression and not letting the depression own you. Seeing something like depression as something that just comes and goes i think is kinda dangerous. Dont just force yourself to take cold showers and meditate and expect all your problems to vanish. When that depression comes back, grab it and have a conversation with it. Many peoples depression are rooted deep due to past experiences and trauma. Really delve deep within and find out whats the root problem, not something as simple as my girl left me. And at the end the day, the best way to start dealing with your depression is to speak up.
@JordanGreenYT3 жыл бұрын
expression is they key. yes, depression changes your brain physically. but when you change your thought patterns, that also changes your brains chemical makeup. ive looked death right in its eyes, and it was only at that moment that i realized that i am in control of my life. mind > matter. owning your depression is accepting that it will always be a part of you. it is learning to live with it instead of learning to grow out of it. meditating, journaling, etc. is how you develop self awareness. it forces you to go deeper into the rabbit hole this is your own mind. this is where you discover childhood trauma and how it has affected you. these are practices that help you develop self awareness and control, and those are precisely the two qualities that you need to overcome depression and anxiety.
