This was a half baked session.. In India girls are considered as a victim in case of rape charges and it always falls on male to prove that they are innocent and have not raped the girl or women. Many people are languishing in jails just because they couldn't prove themselves innocent. Just to give a glimpse of how severe it could: (a) Even after 30 years of the so called episode of rape, women can come out and put a case on you saying I didn't had the courage to come out that time and now in your 50s you will be asked to prove your innocence.Where will you get the details, recordings, chats now to prove your innocence? (b) Something similar we saw in the "me too" episodes where many women came out now. (I am not saying that those women were wrong just trying to point that this situation could prove to be difficult if faced by any man) (c) This law should be amended in such a manner that if proved that man was falsely being targeted under the rape charges, women should be given equal sentence which the man should have got if he couldn't prove his innocence along with several other sections of tarnishing the image, mental harassment etc.

Agar rape ka punishment death/ 20 years punishment hai, toh false rape case ka punishment bhi yahi punishment hona chaiye . And ladke kya kar sakte hai --- kuch nhi. Practically police pehle arrest kar leti hai bina koi initial level enquiry ka. Jab tak iska strong punishment nhi hoga and ladki ko nhi roka jayega false case karne se. Tab tak kuch nhi ho sakta. Practically woh defamation wala law use nhi ho pata. Jab tak by default punishment ka provision nhi ayega yeh chalta rahega. And NCW and all people in charge know it . Still itna sa law pass nhi ho raha . Rape and molestation cases mein same punishment for girl if case is false hona bahut zaruri hai.

My own sister in law filed false rape, assault and death threat cases against my brother and me. I never lived with them and yet there is an FIR against me for dowry(on my parents also) and other accusations i mentioned above in a separate FIR 3 months after the dowry case just because she had some marital issues with my brother. We don't even know why she did all this just after having my brother's child. Now we are on anticipatory bail and looking at huge litigation costs. To go to high court also lawyers are asking huge sum of money.
