i have a issue with a 8mo american bulldog, once i put the lead and collar on her or the harness she goes berserk jumping flipping trying to get out of the lead/harness she almost does backflips she is impossible to walk due to acting up constantly even when crossing roads she can have a moment

Im just having a hard time finding out what to do when we turn the corner and my dog or the other dog lunges? I can’t re-direct. I can’t keep the leash loose at that point (makes no sense why you’d keep a loose leash when a dog may lunge at people). Then, I can’t say No or No to the other dog if were to attack? If my dog were to lunge, I re-direct, give him praise and a treat after the other dog is gone?

Sorry but this approach is really unpractical in real life. What does it help to have a training situation first with another dog if that is not even close to reality ?!? Plus why the luring or treat throwing ?
