How to debug Fortran in Visual Studio Code (TRANS4D/HTDP)

I needed to set up a decent environment to debug in Fortran for the purposes of porting Fortran to C++
TRANS4D is a program for doing geodetic coordinate transforms accounting for tectonic movement in various reference frames. I wanted to translate it to C++ and having a good environment to step through to debug line-by-line was really helpful!
Since creating this video I'm basically done with the C++ port, but I don't have a video on setting up the C++ debugging in VS Code.

Can you help in compiling all the subroutines together. I have a program, which has four subroutines. The subroutines have the name as filename. How can I compile the code by calling subroutines. Kindly help me.

I see an error f951.exe: Error: Cannot open file 'C:\Users\Desktop\trans4d-master/src/fortran/*.f' : Fatal Error: cannot open input file: C:\Users\Desktop\trans4d-master/src/fortran/*.f compilation terminated. What I should do with it?((

And a lot of errors like this one "Fortran 2018 deleted feature: Arithmetic IF statement at (1)"
