Is there any custom open source firmware uvailable for theese, does it come with drm decoder?

There are firmware updates but you risk bricking the unit. No DRM as of yet. I would like to see PSK as a new feature but maybe down the road. Glad it has the morse code decoding feature.

This is a very useful video, especially since it is not so obvious that you are in CW mode because there is no icon at the top to confirm that, just AM, LSB and USB icons. I have suggested to Georgiy that he include some confirming icon for CW mode.

Cheers Gerry......finally got the CW decoder function to work thank you. It decodes very well. Always wondered what the white line was under the speaker icon. Do you have the RDS decoder for FM radio stations on your software ? Must say I am very pleased with the Chinese version of the Malachite, just wish there was a fix for the poor HF performance on the telescopic antenna. Good DX and thanks for sharing. Yes RDS works great. Gotta find a station with talk to make a video. Get a MLA-30+ for shortwave and use the whip outside.

There is a cheap fix for the poor whip performance on HF. A 49:1 balun to fix the impedence mismatch. There's a YouYube vid on it.

They work great with telescopic antennas outside but indoors reception is not good.

Thanks for showing how to set time etc. Where you have AGC on screen mine says Att. Also if you press and hold Freq and Volume in at the same time it does a reset or restart. Cheers from old George. Ps just getting back into Radio. G1 Ham in the UK.

@@GerryDX Hi Gerry I got my Ham Licence in 1983. But gave up the Hobby due to where I lived and local rf interference. But planning on just using radio again just from my old motorhome when travelling away from home etc. I am an ex Radiospares guy. Been in radio from age of 12. Valves mainly. But now getting used to Digital stuff. My first HF radio weighed 16 stone. Now radios fit in pocket. Cheers from old George

On mine i push and kinda hold above the visual button to go to CW the a 2ed time to go in to scanned mode in that screen tap and you can auto scan. then tap and hold the screen above the visual button and go to waterfall. I have V1.10c Your video tough me a few tricks i didn't know.

They are pretty much the same unit. Try and get the cheaper priced unit and check the reviews of the seller. Good luck!
