Thanks, in my case, the notches were found on 006, then I tried same combination and bingo at 551. That opening sound gives immense pleasure. Thanks once again.

to all the people who are wondering , IT WORKS! my suitcase was 3 combo locks on both side. (tip- use a very slim card or tablet stripp that doesn't bend, when the grove of the dial is open it goes a bit deeper.) took a fffffflong time though cheers

"Thank You" Handy Harvey, worked perfectly! I had come across an older Mutual brand natural cowhide leather Briefcase, loaded with like new, but old, handcrafted fibrous sheets of rag paper. Cleaned it up with Tannery Leather and Vinyl care. Now the combination lock has been reset, it's a great new (old) briefcase for someone. Excellent tip. Just bought a briefcase in a thrift shop for 2 euro because it was locked and they didn’t have the combination. Had both locks opened in 3 minutes using this method.

Forget the paper, I opened my 3 tumbler lock case in less than a minute. Go to your auto shop or Harbor Freight and buy a set of feeler gauges, a 0.15 in feeler gauge slipped in real easy to the left of each wheel, then using a fine screwdriver move the wheel one click at a time, when you hit the right number the feeler gauge blade goes down slightly and you can rock the wheel back and forward and feel the movement to confirm, sure enough in less than a minute .... ' Click' and I was in !!

@audimanpov. Going to auto shop or Harbor Freight takes more than a minute, plus you get to spend money for a tool. I guess I still go with paper. It's available everywhere and costs nothing. Anyway, great idea. Cheers!

Your solution worked for me. I have a number of feeler gauge sets so I grabbed a real narrow set (.25) and went probing for the indentation. I like a good puzzle, but the piece of paper wasn't happening on my RoadPro case. Thanks to HandyHarvey and you for putting various solutions out there.

Hi @nazaninaryanmehr7238, start on any random number. The idea is to look for the gap or notch on each dial. Use any thin and rigid object to insert on either the right or left side dial. Turn each dial up or down (must be in single direction only-to avoid confusion). Work your way until you see that all the gaps are lined up. See @2:13 This should be your starting point, rotate the dial one by one (in single direction only) until the lock opens. Hope this helps. Thanks and good luck!

My case was a bit different, both brand and mechanism. Since I couldn't feel much, I had to be outside in the sun and have an extra torch to see what was going on inside. I noticed that there was a thin slot on the dial axil, so I used that to index instead. Worked out just fine in under a minute except for the latch on one side being stuck. Understandable as thing is well over 20 years old now. Still, am half way in now so I'm sure my dad will appreciate the progress.👍🏾

@@handyharvey turns out indexing to the slot was correct, but the combination was wrong. It could be why only one side opened. Later that day, I went one row higher on the combination and both sides just popped right open! It works reliably now with no issue

Try using visual cues instead. My case was similarly hard to decode with feel, but under the sun and a torch/flashlight I could angle, I saw a thin slit in the dial axle that worked for indexing like the notches in the video and got it unlocked
