The Omega 1500HDS has a black gasket that blends in with the black cap, I was not even aware of it. I removed the gasket with a knife like you mention and it was gross! I put all the parts in hot baking soda water and the parts are bubbling, wow. Thank you SO much for the deep cleaning tips! You are rawsome and incredibly helpful! ❤

@@naturallyrawsome So here's an update.... I tried this tip last night and it didn't work, not even a little bit. I'm so curious what I'm doing differently. I filled up a pot full of warm water and baking soda and let the juicer parts sit overnight. (I have an Omega 900) Then I used the brush to scrub them this morning. The residue didn't even budge! I feel like I did exactly what you did! :) Oh well, I'll keep searching for an answer....

What ratio of bicarbonate to hot water do you use?
@naturallyrawsome3 жыл бұрын
1-2 Liters of hot water, 3-4 tbsp of bicarbonate. ;-)

Does this work for the stainless steel gears on the Greenstar?

Yes, I'm doing it all the time! ;-)

I tried this exact method. It works great on the plastic parts, but it didn't work for the metal screen. I scrubbed my butt off and it's still covered in mineral deposits.

Oh no. So sorry that it didn't work for the strainer. It definitely is tough to clean because it's so fine.

I saw another video where somebody used Oxyclean for the metal strainer. They left it overnight in water with Oxyclean and the next day it literally wiped right off.

What juicer do you have right now? Is it omega? Which one and how is your juicing experience with it?

At the moment I'm using the Green Star Pro because I juice mostly greens and it provides me the best quality juice and highest yield. I also used the omega NC900 for a while, which is ok too but doesn't squeeze out as much juice as the Green Star. You can also check out one of my recent videos where I compared the two of them. ;-)
