I've been doing Deep Vein Thrombosis studies for 22 yrs. I promise you. If you have the notch pointed laterally on the left leg you will have the anatomy completely backwards!! Yes that includes vascular labs read by some of the top vascular surgeons in the country and read by some of the top radiologists in the country. Please don't have the notch pointed laterally!! If you note in the film... its pointed medially... Always have the notch pointed towards the patients right!!! ALWAYS. if you don't then all of your images will be reversed on the screen!

Thank you very much. How can we access part 2 for DVT and Aorta ?
@SinglesCardFinder10 жыл бұрын
For some reason you state at the 4:45ish mark that the ultrasound mark should be facing laterally. This is wrong! It's only laterally facing when you do the right leg. It's more correct to say that the marker should ALWAYS be pointed towards the operator. Never as shown in the 4:45 mark. If you perform it like that you will be laughed out of the radiology dept..

David, I know what your thinking, but I have been to dedicated vascular labs that have their U/S's read by vascular surgeons instead of radiologists and they do have the probe notch facing laterally.

at 8:50, the marker was toward medial. but at 9:32, says marker goes lateral. confusing...please advise.

I'm set up to have something called a venous insufficiency ultrasound done this coming tuesday, I have blockages in 4 of the 6 arteries in both legs as well as issues with the veins going back up my legs...the burning is driving me nuts, and my right leg is bigger then my left leg, trying to get any good pants to fit is a bloody nightmare
