How To Defeat ANDROID 20 in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot - DBZ Guide - Beat Dr. Gero Vs. Piccolo
Android 20 is the robot version of Dr. Gero and of the first Androids to be encountered by the Z Fighters. It`s up to Piccolo - who has just fused with Kami - to take him on.
Android 20 is not your typical enemy. As you might know from the series - the androids absorb energy and that is exactly what he will do. This is his “Absorption Mode” - and when he uses it, all energy attacks you shoot at him will be converted to health. He is an easy target - so just melee attack him.
Android 20 uses this energy beam a lot during the fight. It`s quite easy to dodge by using instant transmission or sidestepping. If you sidestep - hit him with the Demon Flash Strike. If you use instant transmission - immediately charge after using it, so you can use it again.
The most annoying thing that can happen, is when Android 20 uses his energy drain. You know he is about to use this attack, when this scene triggers. You have to get as far away from him as possible using your sidestep. You can sit out the entire attack from a distance. It`s over once he stops glowing red. The energy balls he shoots will just explode if you are far away. At this moment - he is exhausted. So fly towards him and use a special attack, or any normal attack.
So there you go - this is what you need to watch out for when you face Android 20.

I think they did a good job though of showing the Android powers, but I agree it‘s a difficulty spike compared to the rest of the bosses. In any case, just keep your distance and you will be fine ;-)

I'd say the ginyu force fight was harder the 2 on 1 was a pain, this was just cheap...was kicking his ass at on point and he spammed his summer attack 2-3 times and his energy grab move 2-3 times in a row. Thats not hard it down right cheap.

I did this for less than 10 tries. What I did was: 1. Maintain distance 2. Use mostly special beam cannon 3. Use the teleportation thing when he tried to use the energy absorption. When I won, Dr. Gero was not able to use the energy absorption on me. Man, that was the best feeling!

Dodge Android 20's blast. Keep your distance as suggested. Do not use Special Beam Canon instead, use consecutive energy blast. For some odd reason it does more damage. And if you are quick enough you can spam them 2-5 times in a row. With some experimenting this is the best way to take him out somewhat quicker too. Make the choice whether or not if you want to spam consecutive energy blast or play it safe and do it after each Ki blast attack from Android 20/Dr. Gero.

I finally beat him using the side step technique method and spamming him sideways with the special beam cannon when he gets weak like you said. It wasn't perfect at all, but i got it done.
