What I love about krav maga is that it wasn't spawned by tradition or religious customs, but of the human need for survival

@TiberiuAlexander true, Krav Maga is more for self defense in real life life than anything else, which is what makes it useful

Do you guys think this would be overkill to self defense? In certain situations where your life is in danger absolutely but I don’t think you should do that damage to a school bully unless he’s really trying to cause serious/deadly harm

I know what MMA means, but it still doesn't change the fact that it is a "full contact combat SPORT". That's why there are MMA competitions, but no such thing for Krav Maga. Of course, it can be quite useful against unarmed opponents, even if they have some fighting experience, but it's not as adaptable to real life situations as Krav Maga.

Just a small question #Howcast : Well, i believe all those techniques you are teaching us are so effective but as well as sooo dangerous for the person fighting you too. Like hitting his groin or Punching his face. All those are really dangerous and in an actual fight no one can actually control his attacks. so i just want to know whether using all those techniques IS actually killing or not?
@Pupenhausen11 жыл бұрын
It's self defence, not toy fighting in a school yard. You could alternatively try to hug and kiss your attacker and hope that that stops him, which might be better suited to you. I'd use the Krav technique being a P4 myself , minus the stomp to the face as drilling lethal techniques will become muscle memory in a real attack.99% of the time you wouldn't want to smash someone's head into the concrete with your foot as there is a huge chance of killing them and ending up in prison.

@jakedrumfellow10 жыл бұрын
Good question! Tightening the headlock will make the rip backwards even more devastating to the attacker, usually resulting in a dislocated or at least very painfully injured shoulder. It does not affect the defense, as tension around the neck will not immediately affect the defender's ability to base and stand with a good grip on the attacker's jaw.
@Skatameriganh10 жыл бұрын
In case it fails you can grab something too!!! That made me laugh!!! xD
@knowledgeisthepower110 жыл бұрын
Solid defense, but the instructor does not address punches to the face which is a very common follow up attack as soon as you've been headlocked!
@jakedrumfellow10 жыл бұрын
The rip backwards eliminates forward energy of the attacker, making any attempt to strike rather weak and usually very slow. Furthermore, the hand that hit the groin is always immediately retracted in order to deflect any attempt to punch or elbow. He doesn't retract in this video to show the continuity of the rip and the importance of the grounded-base.

One problem... Stamp to the head = attempted murder. It would not be seen as a reasonable defense
@naits9510 жыл бұрын
If the person threatened you with a gun or knife, you can legally do that. At least in my country...
@Comp144Gaming10 жыл бұрын
naits95 From what I understand, if you are in a genuine life or death situation you can pretty much go weapons free in your defense. Say if you have multiple attackers and you know/fear they are going to kill you, you can do pretty much whatever to the first attackers until there is only one left whereupon you must show at least a modicum of restraint. So yeah if you have a gun/knife pulled on you or multiple attackers I think a stamp to the head can be excused. But if a bloke just walks up and puts you in a headlock and you stamp on his head the authorities might find it a bit excessive!
@knowledgeisthepower110 жыл бұрын

MMA is great for sport, almost useless in real-life situations. Krav Maga borrows the most deadly techniques from many martial arts. Krav Maga is what Israeli Soldiers learn. MMA doesn't teach you how to handle a guy with a knife or how to neutralize your enemy. I recommend you to watch the Krav Maga episode of "Human Weapon". Then you'll understand how tough and real-life oriented the Krav Maga training really is. These videos from Howcast show almost nothing.

i like your videos but you don't have to be so violent you can just defend yourself and then opening a gap; without harming his balls and stepping on his face always try to bring peace
@Y2Crouch10 жыл бұрын
Well, I would agree to this, but there are some things... First - do it peacefully on sparrings, trainings or when you're just fooling around with your friends/people who you know. Or if you're not serious about any fight... Second - if it's a fight, especially a street fight, you should never go back on any of those moves. Hey, the person you fight is asking for it, after all. If you fight - you should make sure you're safe, not look if the other person's balls will hurt... That way you lose. Third - if you don't want to do the harsh parts, then just hook your hand under the other person's jaw, and push with all the power to the ground. He falls, you can just shout at him or simply jump on him and put him in a safe anaconda vise or nelson (full nelson being the most safe of all). Thing is - shouting doesn't work on most parts, so you have to be at least a bit violent. Fourth - it's Krav Maga, you don't fuck around. You just do it fast, and you do it for your own safety. You don't have time to think, you must do it. Also, I've been put into a side headlock several times (many, many, many, I tell you). It's aggressive, painful and can cause injury to the held person, if done with too much power (and it's the main goal on street fights - be powerful to your limit, just to win and ''survive''). If you don't handle it - you can have really big problems. If you can handle yourself very well - try to persuade the other person. But if you want it fast and safe - do it the way above. It's just practical, you know...
@ownenk10 жыл бұрын
its krav maga... and youre asking for peace... look up jui jitsu if you dont want injuries
@naits9510 жыл бұрын
Imagine if the person doing the headlock is a big strong man. Try having an angry "The Rock" holding you in a headlock and try to break free without hitting in the groin. The main reason for the groin-hitting is to cause the attacker to loosen his grip or get distracted. You'll have to continue until you can get your chin tucked and your hand in his eyes. The reason for the stomp to the head is to make sure he doesn't rise up again, because hitting someone in the balls and then slamming them in the ground is not a great way to disable the attacker.
@sgt710 жыл бұрын
OwnenK I don't think you'd say that if you had your face stamped in for no good reason.
@JohnnyDarko018 жыл бұрын
+THE MOHUSSAM This is sort of what Krav Mag is all about. Its not a fighting style as much as it is a ruthless self defense system end fights using the dirtiest possible method. If hitting an attacker in the groin, stomping his face into pavement or gouging his eyes keeps you safe from someone bigger than you, then I'd ttake the risk.
