This presentation was part of the EDI and Academic Freedom conference organized by HxCanada and the McGill HxA Campus Community on April 20-21, 2023.
In this presentation, Prof. Gingras reviews the recent debates in Quebec that led Quebec to establish a Special Workgroup on academic freedom. Prof. Gingras, who was a member of this workgroup, also discusses the main conclusions of the work completed by the workgroup and presents the Bill on academic freedom that was passed, without opposition, by the National Assembly of Quebec on June 3, 2022.
