As per the (very sparse) instruction sheet that came with my Miami Hydrojet spa, I used the pump to deflate the spa. This method was very quick and removed most of the air. I also ran the pump to blow water out of the pipes but that did not seem to clear it all. Thanks for your very useful videos on the spa.

I’ve had my hot tub running for two years straight, and last winter my electric bill was a lot so this winter I want to take my hot tub down. Thanks for making this video! 👍

We've had a Lay z spa Palm Springs for about 7 years now in the UK and it's stayed outside in our garden (open, no gazebo) all year round and has been brilliant. You are right though, we went away on holiday and it turned itself off after a few days as it does then the frost dropped the temp to under 4c so when we got back, it wouldn't restart. We disconnected it (that was a cold job in winter putting hands in icy water to get filter housing off) and took the 'egg' into the kitchen. It warmed up eventually to 8c on the display and then quickly restarted it back on the tub and it worked again... BUT... water poured out the case side so a new pump was needed. That's it, in 7 years and one small puncture, it's been spot on. Can't recommend them highly enough. Thanks for video on this though, really useful to know if we ever do take it inside. 39c is optimum for us in winter. We went in tonight and it was a clear night here in UK, so a great place to sit, relax and star gaze 👍

Hi Adam another great video just wanted to know is it safe to just empty my chlorinated water into the garden or should I put it in a proper drain?
@SailingAquila
@SailingAquila 2 жыл бұрын
Down the drain is ideal, although I've never experienced any problems with it killing plant life when it's run onto my garden. I do not recommend watering your lawn with the water though. High chance it will discolour or damage the grass.

I think you just reverse the same hose from used when inflating. In the air pump there is a side or front connector for that, (not the same used for inflating). And then just Press the bubbles button and it will speed up the deflating a lot.

Hi Adam I found it hard to get all the water out of the bubble pipes on my Maldives Hydrojet Pro. Once the Spa is empty though you can run the pump on the "bubble" setting (not the hydrojet setting as this would damage the pump) to expel the water via the small holes in the pipes. It seemed to expel quite a lot of residual water when I tried this. Thanks for another informative video.

@@SailingAquila I am interested if the plastic material deteriorates after freezing? I have stored mine lay z spa cancun model folded up and covered with plastic bag on an open terrace through all the winter season and it was all good next summer but I have doubts if it’s ok with multiple winter storage sessions?
@SailingAquila
@SailingAquila 2 жыл бұрын
@@sunlit777 I'm honestly not sure. I stored mine in a garage the first winter and then simply turned upside down and covered the following year. I did get a couple of very small punctures along the crease lines of the folded tub after the second year. I can't know if that was due to age, the cold or the way I'd stored it. Generally, I'd say reducing exposure to extreme temperatures is going to make it last longer.

Hi Adam - We have a St Tropez which we are trying to put away and there's water in the inner inflatable that we can't get out. Any ideas?
@SailingAquila
@SailingAquila 4 жыл бұрын
If you mean just in the hot tub itself, then dry with a cloth or towel. If you mean in the section/tubes for the airjets, then try running the airjets briefly to push the water out. If you mean inside the inflatable part, then that suggests you've got a leak and it might be worth seeing if it's covered under warranty. Hope that helps.
