I deleted 20,000 in about 2 minutes. TechMizan Portal is not wrong, MOST people are using the "Newest Yahoo". Solution: switch to basic yahoo and delete, then switch back. I explain in DETAIL below. So, follow the steps below and see what worked FOR ME. 1) Go to your yahoo mail. On the FAR LEFT-HAND side where you see compose, your mail ([e-mail]), inbox, unread, etc., float your cursor (mouse) to your mail section ([e-mail]). This is located right underneath the "compose" section. When it's highlighted, you will see the account setting icon on there right on it. Click it! It will take you to a different page. 2) On this new page, again, still on the LEFT-HAND SIDE/PANNEL, you'll see a list. The list is as follows: back to the inbox, personalized inbox, mailboxes, etc., keep looking down till you get to the smaller writings which is still located in that sidebar/panel, just beneath it. The first of the smaller writings reads "SWITCH TO BASIC EMAIL". CLICK IT. Yes, switch. When you switch, it will look different. Stay with me. 3) On this new page, don't do or press anything yet, just look for the bolded delete icon with a trash can beside it. Click on the bolded delete icon!!! It will ask you if you wanted to delete all however many thousand emails you have. Click yes. It will take a couple seconds and bam, done. 4) But wait, the universe always throws a curveball. Sometimes you'll receive an error message as I did; this is probably b/c of the magnitude of mails being deleted or whatever. Still repeat the procedure. In my case, at some point, it deleted 5,000 messages at once. At its lowest, it deleted roughly 600. Weird, I also found that the "unblock" google chrome extension icon was messing with the process, so I disabled it for a bit, and enabled it after. Anyways, this was THE FASTEST I discovered after spending 100 yrs on the internet searching how to delete it. When you are finished deleting, look to the farthest right of your screen, top right corner should have a link saying "Switch to the newest Yahoo Mail", and viola. Disclaimer, delete at your own risk. Don't come for me if you deleted any important documents. That's your problem. Now have yourself a blessed day.

If you’re on a laptop/computer you can just click the trash can with out selecting anything and it deletes everything in bulk ! I did it on accident lol hope I helped anyone out with this trick.

I have 289128 e-mails which it is currently very slowly deleting , have been waiting for an opportunity to clear my inbox BUT the scrolling down method was nigh impossible so this one is SO easy , so thank you and I hope it works on this many e-mails as it seems to be stuck on 5% at the moment! OMG I was up till 3AM last night as as there were so many it was taking AGES plus kept crashing and therefore did not delete all of them at once! I gave up and went to bed and today is day two and I have 81342 emails left to delete which it is slowly making it's way through , the only problem is sometimes when it stops working ( the box just suddenly disappears ) it turns out it has not deleted any whereas other times it has deleted a good bulk of them so fingers crossed I will get there today as it is around 5 years worth of e-mails I have been to lazy to delete at the time ;-) Lol This is SUCH a Godsend though as I never thought it would be possible which is why I gave up and let them accumulate for so long but this is so lovely to be able to have a fresh start on Yahoo mail and have done the same ( different method but easy ) with my Gmail , so no more clogged up e-mails for me and the worst thing was I stupidly imported ALL my Yahoo e-mails to my Gmail but never again , will just keep Gmail as my separate secondary one from now Here's to fresh starts and no headaches as the lack of sleep means I have woken up with a rotten headache today! Lol

YAAAAAY! My inbox is now free from ALL e-mails! Finally it's deleted then?! It's normal if you seem Yahoo is stuck at some point of deleting those heavy number of emails. After all, they have a server which can get exhausted too just like your head :)

Nice technique... here's my quick workaround. Create a filter where any email containing xxxxxxxxx in email address goes to the trash. That should pretty much collect everything... Then view trash like it's your inbox... that is, view and copy any email you want to save to folders. Then when you're done empty trash. For me, I use Yahoo like my junk email address, so nothing very important.

Yahoo changed its program. This method no longer worked for me. The last step, where you show all messages are identified next to the inbox button no longer shows the total you show. More importantly, no drop-down selection permits you to select all 7,000 plus emails and merely delete them. Still stuck doing anything from 300 to 50 messages at a time. No rhyme or reason to the number it selects each time I click the "All" box. Please find new solution for 2018 version of Yahoo Mail. Thank you.

I tried following your directions exactly, trying to delete all emails from a certain sender. But when I click "All," it only selects the ones that are visible on the page, either 25 or 50. It won't select thousands. (Gmail does this, but not Yahoo.) Since this video is 7 years old, I can only assume Yahoo's web email interface has gotten worse. I have tried switching between the "old" and the "new," but neither one works. I can't believe it's so stupid and time-wasting. I'm helping a friend who has 147,000 junk emails since she has never cleaned it up. My only hope is to import all into Gmail where I can clean it up with just one click under the Promotions tab.
