another great video! my ball striking / accuracy has improved so much after swapping flipping the forearms for a body release, keeping arms in front of body makes getting back to the ball so much easier. Im amazed Dan only has 7000 subscribers given the content and quality of his videos, I would have thought more Rick Shiels fans like myself would be all over this channel. keep up the good work

Dan, one of your best and most significant explanations of the down swing. Really, really helps my understanding of that most critical segment of the swing... Excellent instruction! Thanks

Dan, I have been struggling with my timing for years and didn't really understand the "release". The more I relaxed and "just let it go" the more my shots were spraying all over the golf course. Thank you for the great info on how to "release" and square the club face. I love your detailed explanations!!

Dan I have only recently subscribed as I saw you on a video with Rick Shiels, can I say I used to be terrible from 100 yards in to the flag with shanks and just generally scared haha but after watching a pitching lesson of yours i have improved drastically, I now even aim for around 85 yards when laying up as I am so consistent in that area. Also this video above has improved my ball flight and accuracy massively from 4-8 irons. Wish I found your KZbin channel earlier.

In answer to your question Dan, my answer would be more of what you have been putting out lately which has all been great, thanks. So more of these videos, more videos of lessons with Pros, elite amateurs more analysis of top Tour Pro's and what can be learnt from the things they do and more re-doing the older videos with any updating needed. All really great and helpful stuff !!! Could you show in a video in detail just exactly the angle of the putter grip on the training club that you and Pete Cowen use thanks.

Hey Dan, great video! I've been following Rick's swing changes and I'm trying to adopt some of the fundamentals you're teaching him. From what I can see you're doing a great job and this video here is great. I'm a high handicapper ( I don't actually have one but if I did I would say its around 25) and I'm hopping to lower my scores so I can consistently shoot in the 80's. I'm pretty inconsistent in my strike location with my driver and I'm having trouble making too steep a divot with my approach shots. Im going to try this wrist set and try to shallow out my downswing to level out my swing plane, by keeping my hands closer to my body on my downswing (I'm usually arms fully extended towards the ball with my driver to hit the centre of the club face). I must be swinging over the top and over extending my arms causing my heel strikes which send the ball off with a slice. I guess my question is what is the best way to keep my arms closer to my body to stop the over extending and hit the center of my driver more often.

Hey Dan! I love the videos. Especially with Rick Shiels. I'd be interested in seeing some "helmet cam" views. I think a lot of people struggle with understanding what the golf students are actually looking at when they practice. The front, back and 3D are fantastic, but players view may offer a new perspective...Cheers and thanks for the lessons.

great video Dan!!! superb content as always... am working towards this pivot based swing, seems very different from how i was swinging, with 2 way misses... it has taking a bit of the timing out of my swing but have a long way to go... now my shot shape is either straight or light to moderate fade... trying to master these moves and develop a pivot based swing. and youre content has been very helpful like that as no one talks about it in such detail.

Dan! I love your videos! I feel like this is the biggest struggle in my swing. I feel like I can get in this position, that you are teaching in this video.. but when I’m there, I just don’t feel like I can hit the ball very powerful like that.... is it because I’ve been turning my hands over for so long? I just feel stuck unless I can use my hands! 😕

Hi Dan. Great videos! Serious question: why open the clubface in the backswing, then have to rotate/supinate the left shoulder to square at impact? Why not keep the clubface closed through-out the swing (so the clubface looks closed at the top, rather than on the plane line)? Is there an advantage, such as more speed? Keeping the face closed throughout the swing naturally keeps the right elbow tucked.

Hi Dan, great content! I keep getting confused on the transition from the down swing where the arms are going out (as mentioned in part 2 of the Hogan Baseball video) to the body just turning. How do we stop the arms and then turn the body? Thank you and keep up the great work. Scott

Hi Dan, great video. I used to get told to release the club more with my hands in order to draw the ball. Your delivery of the club is controlled by the turn and not releasing the club through impact. Am I correct in assuming there is no sensation of club head release.

Dan, great videos. Have you noticed any loss in speed using this type of delivery versus the flip delivery? And if so, how much. Is it enough to matter considering that there will be an advantage of more consistent shots?
@banditbaker1675
@banditbaker1675 8 жыл бұрын
Interesting question Matthew; in a Body Rotation Swing (as advocated by Dan and other Top Teachers), the power and speed is delivered by the major muscle groups of the body i.e. legs, buttocks and back. These muscles are far stronger than the muscles in the arms, so they deliver more Power, more Speed, but with more control, than an old fashioned armsy flip. Check out the swings of Adam Scott, Justin Rose ans Jason Day, they certainly haven`t sacrificed any loss of speed by using a Body Rotation Swing. Please try it, you will be amazed by the Power and the Consistency of your Ball striking!

Thanks Dan, for the videos! I will sure give this a try. Coming from a slice and striving towards more consistency this might help. Question however; I'am not a fan of throttling my wrist (turning the clubface down with my wrist) this because it is not consistent for me, I tend to bend en throttle my wrist differently every time... this creates different clubface angles (open vs closed). What if I would keep my wrist quiet (straight/flat) and pre-close the clubface at address? Or do you have a different suggestion? (besides throttling). Thanks in advance for your reply, Jan-Willem (NL)

Dan , shouldn't we let the club release (right arm on top of left post impact) rather than hold it at release with a combination of body turn ? Isn't holding off that release unnatural ? Trying to understand this better as there is conflicting information about this piece out there

I watched the 5 part series and im super confused, do I start with slotting right elbow then pivot or pivot to slot? Second, I got into this position with face aligned with spine and rotated and ill I did was cut the ball. What am I missing?

Dan-just been on the range - this is a hard one- the drill is ok but trying to go longer is hard - lots to think about from part 1 to 4. Been working with an 8,7 and 5 iron - With the point of this being to apply compression at Impact then can I assume this is not for Woods or driver? Also Would you recommend practicing each part in sequence until its second nature before moving to next?

Dan, very much appreciate your content. You asked for suggestions; would it be possible to see these type of instructions actually in use, ie a full swing with trackman data or course simulator/on course? There seems to be loads of swing fix type videos out there but few that actually show the results.
