If I have a Wells Fargo bank would it be compulsory that I deposit the check into a Wells Fargo Atm or I could deposit it into any atm that accepts check deposits?

what is summary receipt

A summary receipt gives the basic info about how much was in your deposit and which account it went to. The detail receipt gets more specific, showing you an image of each check you've deposited.

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: The ATM won't stop you from depositing a check that hasn't been endorsed, but an unsigned check might be reversed or not approved once it passes through human hands. The endorsement also helps with fraud protection.
