By using the substitution method, we have solved for the value of Yt. Simply put the value of Ct from eq 1 into eq 2. Then by taking β1Yt term to the left side of the equality and taking Yt common, take 1- β1 to the denominator of the right-hand side.

Hi, how do you find the reduced form equations when there are two endogenous and two exogenous variables? Example: Q1,Q2 are endogenous and P1,P2 are exogenous variables Q1=a0+a1Q2+a2P1+u1 Q2=b0+b1Q1+b2P2+v1

Substitute the value of Q1 from first equation in the second equation. Then, you'll find the reduced form equation of the endogenous variable Q2 in terms of only predetermined variables i.e., P1 and P2.. Similarly you can substitute the value of Q2 from equation 2 and substitute that in equation 1 .. Then you'll get another reduced form equation in which the endogenous variable Q1 would be expressed as a function solely of the two predetermined variables (purely exogenous) P1 and P2.
