You can use bicarbonate of soda instead. I've done mine this way, saving couple quid or so. And it worked perfectly well. Bicarbonate of soda is actually for that. I've added a good amount to the water (like 4-5 big spoons) and started the process with that. My Tassimo is quite happy since than.

Very clear instructions thank you 😊. I don’t know why Bosch put in that stupid leaflet with numbered diagrams that are no help whatsoever, if you’re not going to be helpful then save your company money by not printing them to start with, just pop a message in each box to go to a KZbin video, preferably this one!
@Jaffabite4 жыл бұрын
That's really kind of you to say, thank you. 👍😊

Totally agree with previous reviewer ... No nonsense description of the actions to be taken. Bosch leaflet is useless, and the video they produced, although better, has fancy music, and no voiceover, which leaves you unaware of exactly what should happen (example the different noise the machine makes while cleaning). The irony is you give your advice for free, whereas somebody in Bosch Communications Dept will be paid hefty salaries to come up with less than ideal information... Oh well...Well done to you, Sir!

Thanks for vid, much appreciated! I live in Scotland where we generally have soft water. I’ve got the same Bosch coffee maker and it does a good cup of coffee. I’m surprised that the red light has come on the machine that I’ve purchased. We don’t have a problem with “hard water” which makes me think that these companies force you to buy these cleaning tablets. Not meant to sound like a wild conspiracy as the machine gets cleaned at least once a week. That said, I will purchase some tablets as I don’t want the machine to get blocked. Good vid though! Thank you!

I have just had the red light come on for the first time and have come here for advice. I'm in Yorkshire and never get scale on anything so did a dummy descaling with plain water and sure enough the light has gone out. Clearly there is no sensor, just a cycle counter that turns the light on. My Bullshit meter has gone into the red zone too now!

See the yellow cleaning thingy disc how often do you have to replace them please ? Also is it the middle button you press to descale or the last one ?
@Jaffabite3 жыл бұрын
The yellow disc doesn't need replacing unless it stops working. Its use is only to let the machine know to dispense hot water and isn't like the pods which need disposing or recycling. Regarding the button, although it looks like it is more than one it is infact just one long button. Anywhere you push on it activates the same button/function. I hope that helps 🙂

I'm no expert on alternatives to the tablets so I couldn't really comment. One thing to bear in mind is that completing the descaling process resets the red light so you won't know if it has done the job well or not. Hopefully it managed to clear through after a couple of boils. (sorry for late reply)

Does the machine need to have the grey round thing in the water tank in order to work!
@Jaffabite Жыл бұрын
Yes it does as it helps the machine know how much water is in the container.

hi! thanks for the video! however, i’ve done this many times but it still won’t start rescaling? am i doing something wrong or is there something wrong with the machine?

Is it the same model machine? Are you holding the button down for long enough? and then waiting long enough for the process to run, it is quite slow?

Thanks for the video I was going buy a whole new coffee machine for £500 but you saved me wasting £500. Also how often do I need to descale the coffee machine?
@Jaffabite2 жыл бұрын
Phew! That was lucky then. It varies on how much you use it, a few months possibly. Just have a tablet ready, wait for the light, and then just look up this video again on how to do it 😁
