Hehe, any white vinegar will do the trick. It's malt vinegar you want to stay away from, that's for your fish and chips 😆

I double flashed it out with boiled hot water as you said. It drained the first lot find and won't flush the second lot out and now has broken my prep machine so got to buy a new one now.

I am sorry to hear that. I am not sure why that would have happened. Did you press the big button on the second cycle rather than the clean button not the side?

You can use boiled water but it should be left to cool down before you put it into the machine. If you use boiling water it can break the machine. I did this with our first one. I thought the water had to be boiling hot. If you leave the boiled water for about 20 mins it will still be hot but it won't damage the machine

I have just followed this step by step and my prep machine is now broken! I can't afford to go and get a new one. You need to let people no not to use boiling water!

I am sorry to hear you have blown out your machine. Tommee Tippee says you should use boiling water and I’ve done this once a month for 1 year with both of my babies with no problems (not descaling but cleaning with boiling water. I descaled every 4-6 months). I have posted a video on how to avoid blowing out your machine, you just need to wait for the machine to cool down before running a test cycle. Never run boiling water through a test cycle, always use the clean button on the side.

Hi, sorry do you mean malt vinegar? I don't think it'll ruin your machine as it's still a liquid so just make sure you flush it out a couple of times with water to get rid of it and then use a white vinegar and follow the steps as normal as malt vinegar is not typically used as a cleaning agent. Be really careful with the boiling water step, make sure you use the "clean" function on the side of the machine do drain the water. And only press the big button to run your test cycle once the tank has cooled.

Milton tablets will sterilise your machine (I have another video where I show you how to use them) but they won’t descale the machine which is a what the vinegar will do.

Hey, I think what you’re on about is something my machine used to do. Flash really really faintly whilst making the milk. I researched it and read that it was a fault with a batch of these machines so we must have just got a machine from that batch. As long as it’s not on when the machine is not in use and it’s not a dark solid/flashing light I think your machine is fine. To give me piece of mind, I took the back of the machine off and made sure that the pipe work clean all the way through cuz there are some nightmare stories out there about them getting clogged up with black sludge.

Hi, it’s very strange that they would say the photos are not genuine. I can only think it will be because of the kinds of photos that were provided, what do they show? Do they show the two of you together? Your family there also? Maybe explain what is happening in each photo next time. If you aren’t showing faces, explain why, is it because of religion? It’s hard to say when I can’t see the photos

If you buy brand new then I think you should be fine to just clean and sterilise it kzbin.info/www/bejne/bn3Lqo2Omdqtd7M. Mine is actually secondhand so this is a step I did as well as the sterilisation before I used it for baby.

Sorry to hear that. I’ve done this a lot of times to my machine and it’s always been fine. Even the tommee tippee tutorial on this mentions you need to add boiling water so I’m not sure why that has happened. Remember there is a test cycle first and then you should be able to start making bottles again the next time you run it. Hope that’s all it was

Think you need to take this video down. It broke my machine. Blew both fuses in the back. Luckily the machine is being repaired by a trained electrician for only the cost of the fuses. He said that the boiling water would have blown the fuses. Not good!

@@SarahVandenBrekel well you're saying boiling water broke your machine, but it only goes in where the normal water for making the milk goes... Also, if you read the official tommee tippee manual for this machine, this is exactly what it tells you to do

Im sorry your machine blew out, but Tommee Tippee themselves recommend using boiling hot water to clean/sterilise the machine. There were plenty of videos on KZbin and all use boiling water. You just have to make sure you are using the clean cycle button on the side and not pressing the big on button whilst draining the machine/before allowing it to cool. I’m not sure how you’d keep the machine clean and/or sterile if you aren’t going to use boiling water. There have been lots of horror stories about how gunky the pipes can get which can obviously get into baby’s milk and be harmful for them. I cleaned my machine using this method once a month and sterilised every 4-6months using boiling water every time and have never had any issues.
