Same here. Matter of fact, I went back and bought a 2nd one just to have. I was fortunate to buy the right coffee maker only because of the price. I originally bought the 19 dollar j cup machine at Wally and smoked it in less than a week. I then bought this one and it’s preformed flawlessly. I use 2-20oz yeti tumblers everyday with me to work, because the coffee I’ve found is $6.99 for 12 kcups and one a little more. I brew one 14oz (in a 20oz), get it how I like and brew a 2nd either immediately or soon thereafter, and it performs flawlessly, every single time. My descale light has been flashing for a week and I’ll descale now, but we have excellent quality water here in our little town, and it’s got 1grain of calcium hardness and no iron, so it’s great for brewing. I may even go buy another of these as, for the price of less than 3 of these, actually WAY less, you get a maker that outperforms the K brand and moreover, it’s simply the best maker on the market . I almost didn’t want to mention this, but the fact remains I’m still on my first, at least 450+ (14 oz) cups brewed, one after the other and kudos to Farberware. Excellent, robust design. Exactly same experience here! I have had this machine for years and had to clean it twice whereas I had two keurig’s and they both broke in less then a month and one when I tried to clean it that broke it. Keurig is garbage and this machine is amazing and yeah like I think it was $30.00’s or something super affordable!

I was able to get my Walmart to match their website. It was $14.99.. I love it. So easy to clean and use. Not a fan of the other brand.. through outrageously expensive for what they are and they also are horrible to try to descale.

I kept reading the instructions, but my right-brained self just saw a jumble of words that didn't add up to anything that sounded like steps to follow or a clear amount of fluid to use in total. Yeah, 14 oz, but that didn't apply with the ratio. It made sense the way you broke it down. I'm visual.

Good informative video. But since you've gone to the expense of buying vinegar, why not run the remaining 16 ounces through the descaling mode a second time? Or only make the mix at 15 ounces, 5 ounces vinegar and 10 ounces water.

One weird thing I found when descaling this machine is that the water came out at ambient temp. Normally, when descaling coffee makers, the machine heats the water.

@@JustADad no, I live at sea level, I checked the strainer after the water container and that was it, had some sort of lime or sludge, even we use only purified water

I would also suggest doing this outside if you have an outlet available or in your garage otherwise your house will smell like you have been making pickles.
