PowerPoint is awesome - wayy less fussy than others programs yet no one talks about it. I've been trying to tell my Dad how much I love it - he's a techhy-programmer person and has worked in printing for years. He is ALLL about his Photoshop, but never learned PowerPoint. I sent him a file the other day and he was like, "Yea, I got it and it opened right up and I could get right to work on it" - sometimes it's nice to not have to fuss so much with our software! PP is like a VACATION compared to some of these others! Give it a chance- I LOVE PP as a design board because I can drag things wherever I need them without any extra steps, can compile them how I need, I use the snipping tool and copy my whole base image (background) right click and save as an image, then if I need to edit, I bring to Paint.net; however PP has a lot of great adjustment features. I use this in combo with Ipiccy (free editing site), and Paint.net which I'm learning to use more. Next steps will be to learn Krita, and honestly I'll be good after that. My Dad said that has millions more combos of effects than Photoshop, and it's free, so in my opinion, I don't get what all the fuss is about.

Thank you for this tutorial looks amazing, a question I have from an illustrators perspective, could you create all the objects shapes as separate layers in illustrator and then import as SVG and then ungroup? I did a quick test and noticed it does convert the shapes quite well but noticed the colour conversion needs a lot of adjusting afterwards. Also from a clients perspective it would be nice to embed certain fonts that 'allow everything installed' on the license, only way I can find how to check this is using Fontlab, I wish there was an easier way of buying these ready for use embedding in Powerpoint.
@oneskill_ppt2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ruth Boon 😁👍🔥 yes inserting .svg into PowerPoint works, however the best results are with simple solid filled shapes, if there are any gradients or transparency in the original illustration, then after inserting, converting to shape and ungrouping colours will change and adjusting will be needed :) and about the fonts, do you mean you would like to attach fonts with your presentation? you can do that in the save option when saving your ppt.

Wow!! Great tutorial!!! Thank you so much - HAD no idea about the subtract, Control G to group (I use it via right click menu but control functions are so much easier for me!), and I've done some things with animations but not much - also the color palette and the other site new resources for me!!. I am NOT an artist, and am starting a digital design business for printable products. I had a jewelry business and designed all my ads in PowerPoint and LOVE it!! I need to watch more tutorials because I HATE Photoshop, and don't feel I need it, and can't afford it as a new business - they need to offer a ONE AND DONE Price, I think that's total robbery!; however I do need these PP layers to lock - only problem, otherwise I LOVE this program and use it as a huge clipboars for projects, so I paste in my patterns, graphics to diff slides, organize my ideas without having to worry about clicking layers on and off while working. I use this and OneNote as a look book or idea page, get a rough design together here. Sometimes I bring it into Krita and organize by layers, but for what I'm doing, you don't really need to! I'm sure graphic designers everywhere are ripping their hair out and screaming if they are reading this lol. Sorry, Adobe! I think PS is crap - can't stand the black everywhere - I have ADD and too much black print really messes with me, I start to not be able to differentiate between words, etc. That's how I feel on PS, I can't FIND anything because nothing is in color! I like the red-headed step-child program better!!!
@oneskill_ppt4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and sharing #Mom4Real 😁👍🔥for layer locking in PowerPoint, I sometimes paste something to Slide Master, then in the Normal view I can't select it and it basically becomes "locked". Hopefully that helps :) and for vector and pixel art I sometimes use Affinity Designer, it is much more affordable than PS and has only one time payment. Another good and free PS alternative is Photopea, I have used it in this tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKGve5ulmc96gqM
