A little tip, i did a similar setup with 1/2" 625 head studs on a RB26 head, i also was a little sceptical that i had enough clearance around the head stud that the oil travels up around. In my case i ran a boost doc electric oil pump through the oil feed near the oil filter boss, left the rocker covers off and pressurized the whole system while checking oil flow out around the cam journal to verify i had enough clearance before sealing off the cam covers.

As for the heads, yes, bery much the same problem with the stock blocks and the bore spacing, the ports are not perfectly cast. If you CNC the entire port you are risking some thin spots.

Always good to know people that know how to fix the shit that's hard to fix! Good to see and hear this thing ripping. PRP's cast iron block is gonna solve all your problems. No more growing and dropping oil pressure. You can always sell that billet block to some drag race guy. Also, as a note, friction does not equal wear. You can have more friction and less wear, and vice versa. Just something to add to your guys' conversation about friction and heat and such. One of the many weird properties of engine oil and its many additives.

Yeah man it’s very hard to find people who are well versed enough who understand all of the complexities with running an engine like this. We’ve actually learned even more since this video has dropped and I’ll dig deeper into it on another video in correlation of the pressure drop. The billet block I feel is fine and I’m a big fan of the weight savings and cooling properties of the aluminum.

@@RyanLitterallook for people from Ireland or Australia. There are people who know how to run and build these motors that have taken championships and done really good in battles
@RyanLitteral5 ай бұрын
@jcas055 so I’ve worked with builders overseas - from Australia and that sounds better on paper than it actually is. There are too many variables logistically for that to really work here stateside or any other country you’re operating out of. It’s best to find a builder local to you (or within the confines of your country) to ensure you can get things done and taken care of in a timely manner. It’s racing, timelines are short and things do happen. I’m just grateful I have good resources that are willing to do what it takes to make things right and want to succeed as much as we do.
@jcas0555 ай бұрын
@@RyanLitteral great to know that knowledge was sought for outside of the states but couldn’t agree more with what you said. It’s racing and when you need a part you gotta get it quick and in a timely manner. Having a shop in the states that can build rbs for big power and doing what it takes to make the motor run is optimal. I really hope this refreshed motor will give you the power, speed and reliability that you guys are looking for!!

Man it’s crazy to see your program you’ve been looking good this year in FD Ryan car sounds killer your knowledge is amazing for someone whos on pen and paper a driver. Sucks im blocked on IG cause im sure I miss a lot but im still here! Whats nice is you probably get these guys secrets they won’t share with us but with you they will! Thats key to growth and you’ve been growing you can see it which is why you don’t have the same issues you continue to find NEW issues be proud of that because that means your getting somewhere when you finally get “bored” and chill at a power or driver or whatever level you’ll be so satisfied because you did that 🤘🏻🙌🏻

I really appreciate you noticing the growth within myself and the program man and your response is spot on. I’m proud to have the knowledge I have now and the people around me that have made me better. On paper totally just a driver and I still try and stay in that lane as much as possible but facing these issues on the mechanical side of things has improved my driving ten fold. I don’t recall blocking you but I’ll check my list and if it’s the same name as you have here I’ll unblock it. Thank you for reaching out 🙏🏻

As great as RB can be its not the motor to give back to you. No matter what you do shits still gunna fail at some point. Arguably best sounding fun motor. You'd have to re-engineer the wheel for that bitch to be reliable. Glad you got it figured out tho.

I'll bet you never dry fire a fresh engine again before verifying oil galleys are flowing and free. RB require the "old ways" of building and attention to detail. Every change requires a 3-Way consequence check.
@RyanLitteral5 ай бұрын
That’s not accurate of what we did. We did prime the engine prior to firing, as we always do, that’s why I have a primer on the remote filter housing. We just didn’t know that oil supply was choked off due to the head studs. We for damn sure checked after the other head went on and the studs were turned down and the head stud bores were also enlarged.
