Must be one of them new track rollers took a dump. 2:50, lefthand side, just forward of the sprocket. She's just danglin. On the neck links, I used to link the up at 90 degree with retainers, so they wouldn’t drag on the ground. Love the video. Hard job.

G'day from Australia and an old '9' man from the 70s when I worked for the Hydro Electric Commission of Tasmania. I worked a 9 and from time to time a 355 Komatsu in a quarry producing rock fill for the hydro power dams back in the day. Mostly 9s as the yankee steel in the under carriage was better suited to the hard basalt and granite. Now retired but still with cat yellow flowing through my veins. Thanks for the videos.

A few dodgy track rollers under there, maintenance on crawlers has always been hard to predict. About the only thing you can count on is if you don't look often the cost WILL go up. good luck with the job.

How much weight per axle or tire group or whatever your rules are can you haul? and what kind of tare (light weight) does a aussie style trailer weigh empty? are you using 16 tire groups on the trailer?

@@Jpaydirt G'day there from this side of the big Pacific puddle. Your US truck configurations amaze me with their complexities. All down to road and bridge limits I guess. We run less complicated units here generally speaking. I have to say that I stopped driving trucks way back in the early 80's, so things have changed here a lot. I am not up to speed on the current rules in detail, but generally we either use flat deck float trailers, with or without dollies. Also flat deck platforms with steerable axles. The stingers and boosters you guys use are very rare here. Heavy equipment transporters generally run with overload permits which allow higher axle weight limits than general trucks. Your max height rules are noticeably lower than ours, so that explains the drop-centre decks and front loading units used there. Not too many low overpasses here maybe why we can use flat decks. I used to haul a fully dressed D9G on a 4 axle X 4 wheel float and a 2X4 dolly up front, all pulled by an old R600 Mack. I’m sure you already know about the worn out rollers, this video brings back memories of many hours of moving equipment. When I was a teenager my dad sent me and a 3T cat to the neighbors house to clear a few palmettos, I slid the cat off the lowboy sideways and of course the track came off and the belly pan was stuck between the lowboy tires and the side rail of the lowboy, dad wasn’t very happy with me, but with his experience he was able to get the cat off the lowboy with only one track. I didn’t tell you I made a turn way too sharp and drove the lowboy into a ditch. It was a learning experience for me. You remind me so much of my dad. He was the man. Happy trails.
