Stunning job Mark, you really could tell that this project was executed with love. It was a really professional and very effective thing you did with the Sharpie pen, in adding black lines into the recesses and where two colours meet as this creates depth. We do that in miniature painting with washes for a similar effect. I never though I'd see such a thing in an RC video. As you say pal, if a jobs worth doing, it's worth doing to the best finish you can achieve and this finish is exceptional. Nice one..😎👍🏻👌.

Thanks for the super kind comment, dude! But yeah, I know you are into detailing and scale modelling more than most and have plenty of awesome skills up your sleeve, so it means a lot to me coming from you. The detailing with a pen and the washes is a nice little trick and really makes a difference, even if you are not an expert at this kind of thing, experimenting is the key thing and just trying to get a little better every time. Thanks again my good friend! 😎👊👍

Boy I wish I had this video back in 1989 when I got my original 959!!! 🤣 Great job Mark, you really have a steady hand, and a great eye for detail. As a 'perfectionist' I hate painting rally car cockpits, but at the same time really love the end result. It's a stressful and nerve racking process..... but by taking your time the end result is something of true beauty. A few years back when I done my 959 and Celica grb restorations I had to do both cockpits, with the extreme value these kits are now worth it really put the pressure on (think I gave £60 for a new old stock 959 cockpit 😱🤑) They both turned out great in the end, but I vowed never to do another any time soon. Glad to see someone else using the old cocktail stick trick, something I use regularly. By the way, well done for not even breaking the slightest giggle whilst talking about rubbing back and screwing your helmet..... very professionaly conducted there mate, I would have been giggling like an immature school kid! 🤣 Cool video buddy. 👍 👍 👍

Hi James and thanks once again for such a fine comment! Well, I hope this kind of video is of at least a little help to someone out there! It can be a bit nerve wracking, but at least when we are painting on the outside, rather than inside, we can touch up any mistakes! Wow, I bet you were sweating when doing those 959 cockpits, I know I would be! Good to know you cracked them though! Any yeah, cocktail sticks are a modellers friend! I don't know what you mean, I never mentioned anything remotely like an innuendo, you know I never do that!!! 🤣 All the best, my mate! 😎👊👍

Oh, that was a nice one, Mark, bring down the pace after watching all those speedruns, ha ha... It's a lot of work to sit and paint those, and two, even! I hope you got some nice music and a warm cup of tea to keep you going... I got paint day here myself, today, looking forward to it, but it's a lexan body... Have a great weekend there, my friend!

Thanks, Mads, yeah a nice change of gears down from the madness of speed running! Glad you enjoyed it, mate! I do find it relaxing to take my time and create something I'm happy with. I also have some Lexan to paint but the rain outside is not a friend of PS paint! Hope yours goes well, dude, best wishes!
