Dear Melissa, I had been following all the videos in this series up to where I got stuck at 4:21 in: "How to Determine Your Units In Chemistry"; where I wished you would have shown your work that derived the final answer that you pasted onto the pad so quickly. The answer you pasted is 66.3 x 10^7. (+7) Where just prior to that, we had canceled the M^3 units between denominator and numerator in the expression and got centimeters all alone by themselves. Where my mind left off was at the 10^-6 sitting by itself at the denominator. Now you did tell us to multiply straight across the numerators and divide that result by the denominator in the previous example of 3.28/144=0.0228 and I was with you that far... Q: Because our unit is of 1cm^3, does that mean 66.3 x 66.3 x 66.3 = 291,434.247 ? You have been teaching us that the denominator of 10^-6 has to be converted to standard notation decimal of 0.000010 before it can be used a a divisor to split up the 66.3 x 1cm^3. What blew my mind was we had been looking at 10^-6 and then you came out with 10^7 in your answer ! I do not know how to get that answer ! Could you clarify how the (-)6 turned into a (+)7 ? Or maybe direct me to a video of yours that contains more of EXPONENT RULE THREE. I guess where I'm lost is somehow the exponent went from negative six to positive seven on the integer line. I need some enlightenment.
