My biggest regret is that I stopped reading at the age of 12/13, i.e. when teens get swallowed up by social media. There's a solid ten year gap between being able to inhale books on the daily and now having no attention span for videos longer than 6 seconds. I'm now 24 doing a master's and struggling to understand the elaborate 20th century jargon that I used to read for enjoyment as a child. If you have young children, the best thing you can do is get them a library card and get them to spend a couple hours there a week! So many adventures to be had in one place.

I'm in exactly the same boat as you - when once I used to buy a new book for every bookshop visit, now I can't remember the last time I bought one, because I keep remembering the books on my shelf that I haven't read. Even fantasy fiction is difficult to sustain my attention span these days.

Recently cut back on social media and started reading, sadly only have time for audiobooks. But i’ve made it through Clash of Kings and nearing the end of Storm of Swords! It has done wonders for my ability to focus.

good video! however, telling someone who does not have a good reading habit to read 2 hours/da, is not good advice. those who want to read more will hear that, & become overwhelmed before they even start. rather, tell them to start with 1-2 chapters a day. they will see themselves constantly achieving their goals & be motivated to up the goal!

@@dannyspitzer1267 Try reading the Bible yourself and asking God to show you the truth. Don't listen to all the legalism and other nonsense many fake Christians(like the Poop) have told you. @@dannyspitzer1267 Jesus came to set the captives free. In the Old Testament aka Torah, Moses was sent to free the Israelites and anyone else who wanted to follow, no matter where they came from. Luke 4:18 18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

That liberal-woke puritan mindset is dangerous my friend. Is the content of an author not credible automatically if they happen to be transphobic? We dont have the right to censor or change the legacy of those who came before us, it would be no different the burning books outright. it is easier to attack someones character than hearing what they have to say on a particular subject, we arent perfect.
