This is a simpler variation of the Dave Pelz "system." That is take your 3-4 wedges and figure out the distance with 7:30, 9:00 and 10-10:30 swings and you basically will have any distance inside of 100 yards covered. It's also legal to write these distances down on your clubs in case you forget.

It was Dave Pelz's book that helped me find this video. I can't wait to get to my local field with range finder and wedges in hand, put bag down, hit some balls at various swing lengths, stand in middle of dispersion and zap the laser back towards my bag to get my average distance. Write the numbers down and tape to shaft. As a mid/high hcp player I can only see this being invaluable!

While this is awesome, there's a better way than trying to FEEL 1" more backswing. If you hit that 9-oclock shot 85, choke down 1/2" on the grip and make the same swing and it will go 5 yards less. MUCH easier than trying to FEEL positions. Because you'll find that if you stop playing 3-4 days a week that feel will change every other day. Just my 2 pennies worth

I think this is a great way to shoot better scores, especially for the golfer unable to play more than once or twice a week.

Love the comments around the 50 -second mark...don't try to hit a 100-yard shot, hit a shot you can feel, and then work off of that!

I kind of do this, but reference my hands to my shoulders, hips or knees in the backswing, the whip through means the clubhead is likely higher, but it sort of works.

I only get 65 yards of my 56 deg sand wedge on a full swing. So I only gave problems with distances less than that! How do I judge a 33 yard pitch distance? Half swing?

try going to 7 on back swing to 5 on down swing then 8 to 4 then 9 to 3 and see what your yardage is

you can do the same thing with your 789and pw know that they wont carry as far but they will roll out the same based on conditions of course
