In my opinion, most STIs are treated similarly if the infection is diagnosed early. Regardless of the specific STI, as long as it is treated in its early stages, antibiotics are typically the primary option. For instance, if you have Chlamydia or Gonorrhea, you will likely receive an antibiotic injection and be prescribed oral antibiotics for 7 to 10 days. Since the treatment for most STIs is similar, antibiotics should be made available over the counter with proper education on their use to prevent antibiotic resistance. It is unreasonable that every time someone may or may not have an STI, a doctor must prescribe antibiotics. For example, if you are diagnosed with Chlamydia or Gonorrhea, you will receive antibiotics.
