With a normal diffuser I usually start at the roots because I have a lot of hair and they take the longest to dry and work my way down the reason for this is because the ends are the most damaged part so you want to spend as less time putting heat on them as possible and they usually dry the fastest. I am not a hair stylist but I’ve always used this method and I get pretty good volume. I don’t have a Dyson so I hope that answers your question. For the settings I usually like to do something in between cold and hot but if you dryer doesn’t have that many option to either use the high setting with a colder option or the low setting with a hotter option. 😃

I have the Sunday for my washday, so I have time. I usually towel dry, quite quickly so it's not too dry for my stylers (you know those fuzzy bits that start to form when you keep your towel on too long right). I air dry for a couple hours, and then I only need to diffuse for about 5 minutes to have dry roots. I need dry roots. I have SD, seborrheic dermatitis (can't leave that wet).

I've been around a little while and as someone who had straight to slightly wavy hair most of her life, before I lost most of it to illness and it grew back curly, I can say, you seriously want to be careful while drying your hair on full speed. Without all the product in it, protecting it from blowing all over the place and from sprigs separating from the root and being blown out, the strong force of air can definitely create frizz. I absolutely LOVE Mel's hair! Although, my hair is curly, it's not quite as curly at the root as Mel's. For me, and my type hair, I would not dry on full speed, even though I have THICK hair. It seems to work for Mel, though, because her hair is just luscious and gorgeous ALL THE TIME! 💖

I have to start with pixie diffusing for the 1st 5 or so minutes, THEN hover, and then alternate between the 2 or else my ends get really wonky. I think it's my curl type. It looks wavy while wet but dries in spiral curls. If i hover 1st, the ends of my hair will dry in their wavy state and not spring up🤷🏽‍♀️

Whats pixie diffusing?
@VengefulAngeI
@VengefulAngeI Жыл бұрын
@@krustomer it's when you use the diffuser to cup your ends sorta scrunch it all the way up with the diffuser, and you turn it off until you have the section fully cupped to the top of your head, then you turn it on for however long works for you (about 20 seconds is my sweet spot) & then you turn the diffuser back off as you slowly release the section then repeat all over your head. Turning it on & off helps prevent frizz. I also find that it helps my roots because I'm doing the ends which gets some of the heavy moisture out. Idk if that made sense but there's tons of videos about it if you search pixie diffusing on KZbin

Mel my Mane Girl ❤ what do I do about the roots that feel coarse and are determined to frizz in my bangs? They are especially front and center and halfway to the temples. I’ve tried conditioner, creams, fiber mousse, different gels, damp hair, wet hair, soakig wet hair, finger coiling, denman brush, fine comb. I even applied gels until it was unable to curl at all and it still bushed up like 😫. My texture is similar to yours in general, same pattern, maybe not as fine and also not colored or bleached. It didn’t use to behave like this. The lengths of the bangs are great it’s just the roots in some parts of the bangs 😢 I also keep getting random strands of straight hair recently all over my head. What could that be about? 🤔

@@ashtonmorris4035 That's interesting. I don't really understand how high speed creates less frizz. Stand out on a windy day and most people's hair will get more frizz. When my hair was straight, I always got a ton of frizz, drying on high speed. Even though my hair turned curly, I find the diffuser can still create quite a bit of air and as my hair gets dry, it starts to blow around more. That's when I begin to turn the hair dryer off, until I get my section inside the diffuser before I turn the air back on. Thank goodness for all the product on the hair, otherwise, low speed, much less full speed would have my hair looking like a rat's nest. LOL! I do have THICK hair with fine strands. Maybe it's the thickness of strands that makes a difference.

Would a normal hair dryer stand up to the 10 mins? I see a lot of comments about needing 30mins -2hrs with a normal blow dryer. I have really long hair (touches my low back) and a regular old inexpensive revelon and it takes me like 45mins to an hour to get maybe 90% dry. However, I used a fancier blow dryer recently while traveling and it actually was a bit faster. SO I assume the better quality the blow dryer the faster/ better the results but can you test this out for us?
