How to disable Turbo boost for better Cpu temperature.

This video is legendary. My motherboard VRM's produce coil whine when boost is enabled. After modifying the registry I had the option to disable boost in the OS. Now I can easily switch between power plans and the system runs nearly the same when playing games when not on Boost. This results in a VERY quiet desktop no matter what your doing. My computer is silent no matter what Im doing now, no constant spin up of the fan. Im on windows 11 and juse an app called PowerPlanSwitcher, which can be downloaded from the Windows app store. My thermals were literally on 70°C on IDLE. I disabled it and the temps went down to 39°C on IDLE.... Can't wait to see the temps in-game. Thanks man! I never thought that the turbo boost is the problem. I used my laptop for 3 years now with this option turned on......

Good news! In NFS Unbound medium-high settings 1080p the temps maxed out at 70°c. Better than 108°C

For my laptop ( Intel CPU ), you can override the maximum processor from 100% to 99% and it'll make the CPU refuses to use Turbo Boost, this completely reduce my CPU thermal from 80 celcius to 53 celcius, and fix the unnecessary high CPU usage for LDPlayer 9

OMG THANK YOU!!! I couldn't find the 'performance boost' options shown in the video because mine only had the min and maximum processor thing, no disable/enable options, and it was on 100% so I didn't wanna mess with it because idk what percentage would be appropriate to put or if it would even do anything. I ran to the comments to see if anyone had the same settings (just percentage) problem, read your comment, turned mine down to 99% and my laptop fan stopped being so loud and it INSTANTY started to cool down. The laptop fan and the heat rise has been bugging me as of recently and I thought this was another hopeless video with instructions that don't apply to my computer and I'd just have to continue searching for something that worked. I don't know too much about computers because I've only had crappy cheap ones that just generally _don't work_ and the one I have now is my first gaming computer with an Intel CPU, so it's been searching and trying to figure stuff out for the first time and I was starting to give up on it. Sorry for the rant, but I just wanted to say you've solved my life
