Thx for the great video! I recently bought one of these, upgraded RAM and installed SSD. It didn't come w/ a fingerprint reader - I was thinking about modding and replacing the touchpad w/ one that had one. after watching your teardown I've decided against it as it looks way too deep. I'll check out a USB option instead. Thanks again!

I need to replace my keyboard (DESPERATELY) - do you have a video on how to do that with the plastic rivets situation? I'm thinking I could straight up cut through them and glue them back when I'm done but if there's another way I'd like to do that.
@zadock6370 Жыл бұрын
I just took mine out yesterday. to remove the rivets, I use a really small flat head screwdriver to pried/pulled off each and every individual rivet head. the rivets are cylinders with a larger flat circle heads (similar in shape to a short fat nail), so you only need to pry/break off enough of the circle head so that the metal case/keyboard can go through the rivet cylinder, basically turning each rivet into a cylinder instead of a nail shape. it is a very long and time consuming process and if you aren't careful, you could break something else or even puncture the keyboard. it would likely be easier with a dremel to grind off the rivet heads or use a soldering iron to melt away the rivet heads, but if you don't have those, a really small and thin flathead screwdriver will work. you don't have to break off the entire rivet, only rip off the larger rivet head. if you have any questions, feel free to ask me through a reply to this.

Isn't weird that there is no thermal pad on the chip next to the CPU ? I belive that might be the iris graphic chip . I can bet that this think is getting hot as well .

Hi bro, amazing video, congratulations, but is it possible to add a hard disk inside the laptop or not, only works with the SSD?. Also until how much RAM does the laptop support? I would appreciate it if you could answer me... Thanks for making this kind of interesting videos.

Only SSD, no bay for HDD. You would have to google your full model number to find the RAM answer.

I've been a desktop jockey for decades, and only recently had to get a laptop for work. This helped me figure out how to upgrade the RAM, so thank you for this video! One question for you: What's the significance of that piece of clear plastic that's stickied to the battery (and to the head of something right of the Wi-Fi card) which you ripped off prior to pulling out the battery? Can I remove it or is it required to stay?
@Sellbrokedotcom4 жыл бұрын
You can remove it.... a lot of laptops have those in misc. spots. Never had any issue with removal.

@Sellbrokedotcom4 жыл бұрын
Possibly, check the connection to the motherboard, we disconnect it at 7:11 its the thin ribbon next to the fat keyboard ribbon. I would also make sure there is no software setting for it in the OFF position.

Hey Guys, I have this laptop, I stopped working for me, I took it to 2 repair shops, both said the motherboard is dead, and that it is real expensive to replace and i would be better off getting a new laptop, I had only bought it store bought a few months prior to it wrecking, its not covered by warranty as it apprantly had liquid damage cause by user (me), is there somewhere i could buy the motherboard for a decent price my self and just replace it on my own ?
