how do you have the text on the side of the template? mine does not do that...

On your page at the top you have the ability to toggle off or on that option to view your art board with text and elements off to the sides of your art board. Settings? Sorry, not near my Mac atm.

You can hit the W button to turn on and off the trim view.

Currently you can add outline to text, but if you are referencing a true clipping mask, we don't quite have that ability just yet.
