I like the idea using the razor to get some outside parts cut out but don't approve using the blazes to cut the pants right through... it looks a bit too fake and unnatural, I would just leave the white threads, remove only the surface and let the jeans worn out naturally to make holes! Unless you want to make real destroyed jeans of course, you will make many real holes, but they should look a bit more natural with threads falling out, I think!

I just bought me a brand new pair of dark blue Calvin Klein straight slim leg cut designers jeans and i acid washed them as well. My main concern is not to distress them by making heavy holes inside of it either. I want to do it the right way. I love the faded cool look on the cleases too! Maybe! I'll just wait and wear them before i make any attemps! Lol! But, i sure love your presentation. Thanks for the tips. That background theme music reminded me of my childhood in 1975. Wow, so ppl really do rip their clothes on purpose! I just wear the same clothes for yrs. & patch them up. If I do get something, it's from a dumpster or on the sidewalk. That way I don't need money for clothes, I just find them! I thought they had machines that wear out jeans for those designer brands & they charge like $200 for them, which makes absolutely no sense at all to me. Shouldn't they be cheaper if there's holes & they look used? Why is it that "fashion" in a designer brand store is a 100x more expensive than "fashion" of a homebum? Hell, I could just sell my clothes, but since my name isn't Afercrombie & Bitch I can't charge the same price...or could I? Hahaha! There's no way anybody would buy my clothes! I'm not famous nor will I ever be, as fame just isn't appealing to me at all, no privacy, constant scrutiny & judgment, ppl pretending to be your friend (they already do that), & everyone watching for the slightest misstep. The fashion world is probably the most brutal of them all! I guess it's a good thing ppl can make things on their own rather than have to buy it from the corporate fashion shops which support that brutality! Every DIY thing a person does, is a slap in the face to the capitalists who exploit any & all culture in the name of profit! Yes, DIY as much as possible! It's also a punk thing to do(DIY ethos of punk)! Although punk gets exploited just as much as any other style/genre/subculture the whole idea is to cut out the corporate middle man by not using his currency! I just think ppl could let their jeans wear out on their own bcuz they'll save more money that way rather than tearing them up on purpose, then having to get new ones anyway! I have no idea how much clothes the average person has, but I'm guessing it's at the very least 5x what I have. I bet there's a study on that somewhere! There's a study on everything these days! Clothing statistics, how much the average person owns, by such & such university....the end.lol
@P3storius9 жыл бұрын
Knute Lindstrom Fashion designers become famous and sell because they're good at design or at marketing, not the other way around. And of course distressed jeans are more expensive, you need to pay the people who distress them. You also need to pay more the people who designed the jeans, since this means an extra work. And there are lots of brands who sell raw denim jeans, and buy them back once they've been worn and used for years, only to repair them and sell them again as naturally distressed jeans

guys if you want to get better distress with the strings still in contact, take a razor blade and pull it in the area going horizontally until the fabric gives up and tears. How he does it in the video isn't good because he just cuts through the whole first layer, which doesn't look good imo.
