Okay, so as a McDonald's Employee, I'mma spill the beans on how to make an Egg McMuffin. The Egg McMuffin comes with canadian bacon that is cooked for three seconds on each side. You put butter down first when you cook the egg and use water to steam it cooked. you put a little butter on the top side on the english muffin. we use american cheese slices. and thats how you make an egg muffin! I would also like to note that (in the case of my particular McDonald's) its not uncommon for the muffin toaster to overheat. we as employees cannot change it and we take the muffin out when the timer goes off. they regularly burn. honestly the Egg Muffin is one of our more fresh items. The fresh eggs and canadian bacon is sent to us every three or four days. and at least ant my mcdonalds, we're very strict on freshness. as someone who has to prepare the food, if I wouldn't eat it, it gets thrown. even if it hasn't expired.

McDonalds life hack: If you order the bacon, egg & cheese biscuit, substitute the round egg on it. They don’t usually premake substitution orders so it will probably be freshly made, and it’s just better with the round egg than the square egg lol. (Also I didn’t make those names up , that is actually what McDonalds calls their two egg options)

A lot of processed and manufactured food have added sweeteners and salt to make you crave more of it. It's like with soda, you need to "wean yourself" off the salt and sweet. Or, add salt to your muffin ;) We don't have Taco bell in this country though.

Sam I have the real egg puck hack. It makes the perfect egg in 60 seconds! 1) coat the inside of a coffee mug with cooking spray or vegetable oil. 2) crack egg inside making sure the yolk is broken. 3) Add salt and/or pepper and microwave for 60 seconds. BOOM! Perfect fluffy egg puck.

The reason the egg took so much longer to cook than it does working the grill at mcds is they have a lid that goes over the egg mould with a special funnel you fill with water so you both steam and grill the eggs at the same time. if you open a sandwich and look only one side of the egg is brown and that is why.
