Great video. Such a great tip about not having the bike in 1st to rotate the chain. My brush got caught in it once and it just dragged it though the cogs not way of stopping it. Scary thought if it were fingers

what is the use of the material that u wrap around the exhaust pipe? @2:39
@onecolektiv Жыл бұрын
It's just called exhaust wrap. I think it's fibreglass based. It's basically a heat shield. I just did it because I like the look of it. It's mostly used on headers to protect any wiring or hoses that might be near the heat.

how many kilometers did the bike have on it when you did this service?

I don't really remember, but I used to change the oil every 2,500 ks. I did a lot of highway riding, so the little 300cc sitting on 7,000 rpm at 100 kph for extended periods of time, the oil got black very quickly.

Wasn't necessary at that point. I don't have the bike anymore, so I can't do a video on it.

The crush washer you use for the oil drain plug is copper correct? I know the original is aluminum. Does it work just as good as aluminum? Looking for a cheaper alternative. I have some 12mm 3/8 copper washers laying around. Wondering if those would be fine to use? Thanks in advance!

Great video. Did your bike come with the belly pan, or did you get it as an extra? I haven't seen any CB300Rs in the UK with a belly pan.
@onecolektiv2 жыл бұрын
It came standard with it. I'm not to sure if it came standard on all Australian models or not. I got one of the first ones, so maybe they put them on the first few batches and then stopped doing it. Not really sure.

Is this routine recommended for the first maintenance check? I’d rather just do the first maintenance myself since my dealership is kinda far from my home.
@onecolektiv2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's all basic stuff for your first service. Just change the oil and filter, lube the chain, check all other fluids, and make sure all the nuts, bolts and screws are tight.

Great video! I’m new to all this and want to do maintenance on my Cb300r. But I’m having trouble finding a rear wheel stand for it. I bought one but I don’t think it’s the correct one for my bike. I have no clue where to put the stand on the sub framing correctly. Any help would be appreciated! I’m looking forward to working on my bike thanks to your videos, keep up the great work!
@onecolektiv3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. For the rear stand, you can buy proper bobbins for it, but they are kinda expensive for what they are. I just used a rear stand that had flat rubber mounting points and lifted it by the swing arm.

with the matter of belly pan after undoing the hex bolts and pushing the pan forward do you have to do anything with the pins? By the way great video I learnt alot about my Honda CB300
@onecolektiv3 жыл бұрын
Thanks 👍 the pins should just stay on the belly pan for when you put it back on.

I was thinking about buying this bike for my commuting needs in London. Would you suggest it? Unfortunately I don't have a private space where to park it at night, but the place where I work has a private parking space
@onecolektiv4 жыл бұрын
It would definitely be a good bike around London. Very light and manoeuvrable. Just make sure to get a an alarmed disc lock, and good insurance if you can't park it somewhere safe.

Can't decide this one or MT - 03
@onecolektiv4 жыл бұрын
The new MT03 is pretty good. The honda has better brakes and suspension, but it is more expensive. The MT03 is a parallel twin engine at 321cc where as the Honda is only a single 286cc. So they both have pros and cons. Its a hard choice.

They made these way to hard to change and get right! I have two gaskets on mine only way I can get it to stop leaking! And everything is clean and perfect it just doesn’t like to seal! Piss Poor design they should have just used a normal filter and not made it so you got to crack the case open just to change a tiny filter!
@onecolektiv3 жыл бұрын
I didn't have any issues with mine, but I do agree on the design point.

Too much asking for subscribe at the beginning. You didn't/forgot to re tighten the sump plug. 200yds down the road you loosing it all again. Use a tube as a straw to fish out that excess oil.. don't.. burn it off in the wrong part of the engine.. better still take the bike to a dealer. Just because you can get to the part's doesn't mean you should

@johnnorris19834 жыл бұрын
@@onecolektiv at about 6:40 into the vid you put the sump plug in 'tighten up a bit' is not an option. This is a torque specific item race engines have these drilled and wired. It's kinda important that it doesn't rattle off
