You can just as well do that with a sidestand rotation (which doesn't eat up your tire or attract the fun police (alternatively "concerned citizens" if the former phrase triggers them into a 4hr rant about those damn kids and how things were different back in their day) or the real police). But I will freely admit Burnout is the much more fun way to achieve that result :)

Be careful guys. That tire is crazy sticky and will grab traction if you don't come off it properly and will launch your bike. Also if you sit on it once your burnout is going you'll make a lot more smoke.
@Rawmusse
@Rawmusse 5 жыл бұрын
If you let go the front brake just a little bit (just a tiny tiny bit, because if you overdoit will probably do a glorious flip) you can slowly move towards while burning the tire. Let the brake go and stand on the pegs, you get bonus points :) You need to slowly release the front brake and gain speed to a really cool launch. Once you get really good at it, you can try to do donuts while standing :)

When I was about 22, I did a burnout on my XL500R to impress some cuties coming down the road in a car. Sadly my rear wheel caught just enough traction somehow to pop a wheelie, and I ended up going down in the middle of the (country) road with the bike on top of my leg. (how embarrassing!) Thankfully nothing was injured but my pride. Needless to say, the cuties were not impressed. Lemmy - where was your video then?! lol

You forgot to mention the clean up afterwards. There is rubber fucking everywhere. It's a bitch to clean up, and it leaves burn marks on your fairings. I basically douse everything back there in WD40 if I'm going to do a burnout. No burn marks, and all the rubber just wipes off effortlessly. Just keep that in mind if you're planning on doing it for the first time. I wish I knew this when I did my first burnout.

(repeat from another comment) Also, any bike with electronically linked brakes so long as the ABS is functioning. You can fix that obstacle by removing it, just remember to put it back when you're done or you'll have a nasty surprise at your next panic stop. Mechanically linked brakes (if that's a thing, I'm not sure if it is), though.... good luck

When you let out slowly it increases load on rear tire allowing for the possibility of the front to skip.... you want to break traction fast. If you have the front loaded (pushing forward on the bars while grabbing front brake) you will not have an issue
