I have this one thick lime green extension cord that's so long I could never wrap it nice & neat without the heft of all that wrapped cord getting too big to hold on my hand partways through. The shoulder length figure 8's process works though. Temple Builders!

Be careful with the male/female ends; bending that close to the plugs will pull the plug and cord apart. Then it becomes easy money for OSHA.
@templebuilderscarpentry704310 ай бұрын
I agree. Thanks for commenting.
@markm81886 ай бұрын
If you don't plug then together, you won't be bending the cord right at the plugs. Otherwise, do it this way. 😊

I learned a similar one but it looked goofy cause it had you looking like you’re dancing like a madman in order to make a figure 8 looking cord so aesthetically the end result as nice, then I learned daisy chain and that one just took too long and wasn’t worth it IMO, now I’m learning the “under over” method is supposedly the “best l way to ensure to most amount of cord life long term but honestly these cords are beasts so I wonder just how much of a difference t cord life will be goin from something like this to the under and over method. Only methods I can fw are this one and another one I just saw where you wrap the cord around your elbow cause they’re both mad fast and the end result is very similar to the one presented here.

I know I've had this cord for about ten years, so it has held up to the abuse pretty good. Thanks for commenting.

This is not the correct way to roll a stranded conductor extension cord. It may be easier than whatever you're doing, but it's not the best for preserving the condition of the twisted strands.
