Do you have any suggestions to get your cat to be cooperative so that they will allow you to hold them? I've got my feral cat that I'm trying to work with. I'd like to take her to the vet for a check up.

Sorry for the delay, our notifications weren't coming through. You could get a clicker stick and teach the cat to target the ball at the end and bring it gradually closer to you. They could ultimately step onto your leg and possibly your lap. Go gradually. Most cats do not love being held.

Dody, how important is it to cut their nails?
@HolisticVet Жыл бұрын
My seniors nails tend to overgrow and I do trim all of them (probably should do a few at a time for less stress)

So looks like my cat does have gingivitis( red gums) what to do??? 🙀
@HolisticVet Жыл бұрын
I would bring it to the attention of your veterinarian. There are many causes of gingivitis: viruses, dental disease, autoimmune disease, microbiome imbalance, food allergies

Ha ha, I'm trying to imagine doing this with EMBER, she's so old now. :( Never in a million would this work for her. What about the neck area for potential thyroid? (I need to make an appointment!) Also, would you consider doing a video on feeding Savannah's? Many of the higher percentage Savannah's eat raw food! Ew. With Savannah's, you'd have to take them to the Vet and they would have to clamp them with this gnarly tool!! Looks like 2 tennis rackets. Cat trap! Pls sell stethoscopes for the owners trying to do this! ;) jk

Sorry for the delay, our notifications weren't coming through. Usually, thyroid tumors are lentil sized and very small on the trachea. A seasoned examiner would detect this but palpation by someone that is not familiar could be uncomfortable as it sits directly on the trachea. What specifically are you concerned about with your Savannah?
