My edge Plus fell and shattered a corner, despite having a case on it. It cracked along the bottom of the phone and does not respond at all to touch. Also, the phone won't power down since there is no touch. I have to hold the power button until the phone shuts off, but it doesn't stay off. It keeps powering back on, no matter how many times I turn it off. Would you recommend letting the battery die before replacing the screen. It's such a beautiful phone. I have 4 or them. I've replaced batteries on Xiaomi Mi Mix Original and also Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro (one of my favorite phones. When the batteries swell, they push the screen away from the phone.

To replace the volume/power buttons (not sure if they're rocker style) is it on the screen side of the midframe? Thinking of bringing this to UbreakiFix

Another set of questions... 1) I have found the display both with and without a frame. Which do you suggest is easier to do? And is the liquid isopropyl alcohol?

I'm tempted to do this myself - I've changed several moto G5, Z4 screens so I have some experience. One thing that was not addressed in this video is the through-the-screen fingerprint scanner. Can you confirm whether the screen replacement affects the accuracy or reliability of the scanner? On my Z4, the scanner never worked properly on both screen replacements I performed. It would register fine, but would not unlock - and this was with a genuine OEM replacement screen. I read elsewhere that special silicone calibration blocks are required to get it to work again, and just wonder if the Edge has the same issue.

I have this same phone. It recently fell out of my pocket when I ran to get out of the rain. The phone landed onto the paved road. It has no external visual damage. It receives calls and SMS so it seems like it's working. The screen has colour as normal except the touch screen is not active so I can't do anything with it. Does it need a new screen or could it be something broken inside or circuitry disconnected. Will it be expensive to repair? Thank you for any reply Jamie.
